We have heard the shocking and devastating news that TrinityRhino's DP died suddenly this weekend. Very sadly, many of us will also know that Trinity tragically lost her DH four years ago. Trinity's thread is here
She and her girls are in our thoughts and we send them much love.

We've offered to make them a blanket in the hope it may give whatever comfort it can.

So we are now asking for help once again thanks

Pistey (RatherBeOnThePiste) will co-ordinate and I'll be here to answer any queries you may have. We need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool).
If you would like to be involved in any way, please post on this thread and PM Pistey with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, etc.

Thank you so much thanks

The wool we are using
* James C. Brett Pure Merino DK
* Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (being discontinued, but still some around)
* Rowan Cashsoft DK
* Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK
* Artesano Superwash Merino DK
* Debbie Bliss Rialto DK (new to us)

Just from these please as they are very similar and we know they can be combined for wash and wear. These are all easily available online, try Deramores, Laughing Hens, RKMWools, AWoollyTail, WiseBadger.

The Colours
Warm purples, blues, silvers and cream
If choosing cream please go for either the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK 013 or the James Brett no 7
Green and pink but only for embellishments

Suggestions for motifs
*Fishing, fish and the sea
*Themes from nature, flowers
*A submarine, a gecko
*A teddy bear, a crocodile (for Trin's teddy bear in a crocodile suit)
*We have their initials if you would like to help with this, please PM Pistey.

thanks

Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

Previous blankets can be seen on our website We also have a Facebook page MNWoollyHugs and are on Twitter @MNWoollyHugs. If you like or follow us you'll be updated on progress via your feed. If looking for ideas for a pattern, there are many linked to from our website under Crafting

When ready for posting, please PM Pistey for info.

As always, we thank you so much for your support. thanks

Question: if I wanted to start trying to knit again, what size needles would I use with the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK or the Sublime Fizzy sent me?

Thinking of branching out smile

4mm knitting needles are the average Jacks. There is a guide on the woolly hugs website with stitches and rows and stuff.

Jacksmania Sat 22-Jun-13 20:48:08

Thanks Woolly!

There's a guide?? Well, who knew. Must look more carefully next time. blush

4mm or size 6 if you are using US sizes grin

Jacksmania Tue 25-Jun-13 15:32:36

Watcha gonna do with it, Trin?
if I had a pair I'd be tempted up stuff them in my bra and walk around a bit for the comedy value grin

Jacksmania Tue 25-Jun-13 15:33:17

"Tempted TO"
Not sure where that random "up" came from hmm

KnottyLocks Tue 25-Jun-13 16:40:43

Aww, Trin has her knitted nork smile

And Jacks is just as excited as Trin!

TrinityRhino Tue 25-Jun-13 17:15:00

lol my boob has pride of place on top of my telly grin

Yay! Hope it doesn't interfere with your signal up there!

Jacksmania Tue 25-Jun-13 21:53:57

My boobs have never interfered with my signal... am I missing out?
