Following on from the blanket for Magic8 which is under construction, we'd like to offer one to Whatevertheweather who has recently lost her baby daughter.

I know there is already an army of knitters and crocheters and donors out there; would anyone be able to join us?

I saw that Pidj. Someone PMed me about that a little while ago.

Any DK wool can be used for that project. I know we've had offers of wool from people that hasn't be suitable for our projects but would be suitable for that one.

There's also this project if anyone can spare some time

I'm in as ever. Pistey, hats off to you (as they remain off for Pidj and Knotty). So sad we are starting yet another blanket.

angelpantser Thu 06-Oct-11 17:09:09

Count me in. Please match me up with a donor and I'll get cracking when the wool comes in. I can take a couple of balls of wool - more if you are short of crafters. Are all crochet OK? I only ask because I did some knitted the last couple of times, but the crocheted were quicker to do and I seemed to get more out of the wool.

NessaRose Thu 06-Oct-11 17:01:51

Piste, I have PM'ed you.

KnottyLocks Thu 06-Oct-11 16:38:01

Piste, I've emailed stuff.

I'm sorting through the PMs now.

KnottyLocks Thu 06-Oct-11 16:23:55

I know I'll have squares left over from these 2 blankets.
Not sure how many yet.

Perhaps we could do a joint hookathon to get this new blanket done.
The garland won't take me long at all.

I have my joining wool for WTW's blanket so will start hooking that together tonight.

KnottyLocks Thu 06-Oct-11 16:19:39

Oh bugger. sad

Piste, if you'll take on the admin, I'll email you stuff that show's you how I do it. Plus info for your OP.

Hang about, I'll do that now.

TheRealMBJ Thu 06-Oct-11 16:12:22

I'm due any minute but I'll definitely manage a square or two for chipmonkey.

sad

Yeah, Peachy tipped me off on fb this morning. She's organising a rose, because Chipmonkey's DD was called Sylvie-Rose.

Right them, Miss Piste, off you go and start a thread! Same wool, same size needle/hook, same size square... Gather a list then PM them your address. Decide on a last posting date and we'll try and have it done by Christmas!

RatherBeOnThePiste Thu 06-Oct-11 14:38:24

Pidj - I can very happily and very easily do all of that you know...
Including the cake part...

Maybe if we did this, then Knots can concentrate on all the woolly stuff she has ongoing at the moment? She'll be here later and I'm sure she will have a view on all of this!

So someone has already contacted you? I just find it so desperately sad that another blanket has been asked for. It is another precious person taken too soon. sad

SoupDragon Thu 06-Oct-11 14:17:41

sad I already have wool, assuming it's the same stuff as before.

Pistey, if you're happy to do the whole thing in a couple of meetups, I'll do the hooking. I'll need you to gather squares, store them and arrange for extra wool for joining/edging, but I'll take care of the technical bit grin and you can buy me cake

RatherBeOnThePiste Thu 06-Oct-11 14:05:16

I am desperately sad to hear that another blanket has been asked for sad

But I am genuinely very happy to take on any admin side to any further blanket making. I have the luxury of time in the day and am actually very organised! So if it comes to it now or in the future, please do take me up on this. I couldn't hook them together, but I could do admin very easily.

I've already been asked, I'm waiting for Knotty to get back to me as to whether there'll be spare squares.

If not, then the baton will have to pass to someone new. There are 5 blankets and a bunting project underway, we can't ask Knotty to take any more on, it wouldn't be fair to her sad
