School sexism?

So I just got asked to fill out the contact form from my sons school. The form was already done because my son isn't a new starter I just had to amend any errors. There was one, I was contact one and my husband was contact two. I know I filled it out the other way but it's come back like that. I would think it was a simple mistake (and maybe it is) but I had this exact problem with my other sons school. I told them dozens of times that my husband was first contact yet it was always me they contacted if they needed one of us.

On the other hand.... maybe mothers are the safer bet for the school. After all it's rare than a mother suddenly becomes uncontactable because she has attacked dad and he has fled with the kids.

My DP is the first contact as I am hard to get hold of at work. He has always been the one contacted on the rare occasions it was needed.

Also was with you, but you can't complain about one sexist based thing and then finish with an even more awful sexist remark

Swings and roundabouts. My daughter has just gone into 6th form in a mixed school and I went to an introduction night where they handed out a booklet about it all illustrated by several photos of students doing various activities and a big one on the front of the booklet of the head with six students all stood next to him smiling and waving exam pass papers. Every picture apart from one was girls. They out numbered the boy 12 to 1.
I'm first contact too btw as I work shifts .

Sorry I wrote that quick while I was still thinking so it sounds really flippant or like a sting in the tail.

I have friends who have had to go into Refuge and I have worked with children who are the subject of child protection plans. I was thinking of how confused those situations can be and how information can be missed. My friends child school contacted the kids Dad regarding a health issue while my friend was in refuge, it lead to the child being removed from the hospital by Dad and the police being called.

This is what I was thinking of when I wrote that last part.

In other school sexism news...

My sons school has changed the girls uniform, they can now wear a really unusual green tartan skirt that is only available from the school (not bloody cheap either) or generic black trousers. I was a bit confused by this but I am now pretty sure the explanation is skirt length. I'm not sure how I feel about this but I am leaning toward siding with the school. The skirts are actually quite nice and lots of the girls wear them and they still have the trouser option which isn't restrictive in terms of price.

If it helps i've had something similar - DS started a new school this year, on the form for emergency contacts the first contact was Mrs/Miss/Ms or other, the second was Mr or other. DH thought i was being daft by being annoyed, because i'm the first contact anyway, but it's the assumption of mum as default parent that bothered me.
