Another violent misogynist

The trial is in progress of a young man from Portsmouth who attacked three women last summer. Prior to his arrest, the defendant wrote letters to the police saying that "All women need to die" because they are "fussy with choosing a boyfriend", which meant that he, aged 17, was still a "virgin". He sounds a lot like Elliott Rodger, the Californian spree killer whose misogyny was supposed to be unique and unrelated to his violent behaviour.

whose misogyny was supposed to be unique and unrelated to his violent behaviour.

Yes, that.
Of course his action was his own choice. But that boy was receiving loud and clear the message that our society sends out every day: that women are the sex class.

Now, how to tackle an entire society's beliefs, when it's just too ugly, and with too many difficult changes required, for most people to want to face?

Has anyone ever heard of a woman talking about men in this way "I hate all men and want to kill them". (often in sadistic ways)

Serious question.

I am sure i have never heard of any woman reported in the media expressing that kind of hatred for men. Yet we are often called "men haters". I truly don't understand that.

I haven't, 48. There are novels and stuff out there that imagine a world without men, but afaik they are exploring an intellectual point, and not making the point that the world should be rid of men. (I'm thinking of the graphic novel series Y - The Last Man here, which presents a world in which all men but 1 have been wiped out by a plague but the women survived, and was written by a man).

"Man-haters" are feminist women who hate what men and a patriarchal society do, it seems to me, while
Misogynists seem to be people who hate women because they are women.

I don't think this will be the last we hear of something like this. Violence and degradation of women is only a click away and threats of rape seem to be the norm now. The patriarchy have created this hyper masculine persona in young peoples tv programmes, showing young men as sexually dominant and this being a desirable quality. This is,IMO,having a detrimental effect on young women and creating men like the case in the OP who feel entitled to womens bodies.
