Huffpost News Story: Woman has breasts

I don't go on the Huffpost often but because of reading a few feminism related articles on there I had assumed it was a cut above the DailyFail and the Sun. Apparently not, this article seems to pull off both The Sun's belief that 'Woman has breasts' is a news story and the Fail's line of both being 'offended' by photos of a woman whilst posting as many of the photos to leer at as possible.

Karen Danczuk has breasts shocker

So, you may ask.... has Karen posed for a lads mag or taken up a career as a stripper? (Not saying that she should be slut shamed if she had, but it might be an understandable news story).

No. She has posted very ordinary photos of herself whilst doing daily activities or to show off a change of outfit whilst having the temerity to be female.

Apparently women are meant to be invisible in public life unless we are required to titillate men. We may think our bodies are for helping us move about and do stuff, but they are actually only capable of being seen as sexual objects and so we should accept that if they are seen they will be leered at and sneered at.

I'm not exactly fascinated by other people's endless selfies, but I can't see anything wrong with what she has done and I'm curious as to why someone has decided her twitter account and declared it news. Do they have a problem with the work her husband is doing and wish to smear him in some way?

I thought the significance of the cardigan was that the colours were those of the Netherlands flag?

She has breasts. Hang out bunting.

The Mail online was on form on the weekend. Kelly Brook leaving the gym with her fiancée (That was the 'story') needed to be illustrated with 26 pictures of her mostly in gym-wear.

What an utter piece of non-news. The woman has breasts. Big woop.

The majority of the article's about her breasts, a bit about her husband's political career, and one of the shortest possible sentences saying that she's a Labour councillor and owns a deli. Why can't we hear more about that?

Well, you could hear more about it, but its not directed to that style of readership. In most other western nations I would think such a thing would be an aid to sinking both her husbands political career and her own, rather than help in floating both. But its the UK so, hey, boobs rule.

Her boobs are nothing to do with her husband's career.

Incidentally, she has her own career.
