There was a woman who won the comdeian award at the last Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I read she did a feminist routine. Can't remember her name, but it should be easy to find.

I'm not sure what is meant by feminist humour. Do you mean humour that is not misogynistic?

I actually downloaded her radio 4 show, it was very good.

Kind of miley, but something that does actually have a genuinely feminist bent would be quite nice too.

Nadia Kamil? Only seen her feminist burlesque routine so far

She has appeared with Bridget Christie and Mary Bourke so going to have a look for more of their stuff. Thought this was interesting:

Dunno bit I saw a YouTube on what Let It Go from Frozen might sound like if sung by a sahm. Depressingly accurate but quite amusing

He cites an example of comedian Benjamin Crellin who tells a joke about dropping a nuclear bomb on Korea in a computer game.

"He takes a flame thrower to all these civilians. And the audience is cracking up, because he's doing all the faces and the gestures of being on the Playstation.

"And then - knowing this debate and how ridiculous it is - he says "argh, where's the rape button? Come on, gotta rape 'em".

"And it goes silent, absolutely silent, every time. And he looks up and just asks the question: hang on, it's alright to take a flame thrower to a bunch of people or drop a nuclear bomb on Korea? We can laugh at mass, holocaustic murder.

"But as soon as you mention rape, even in the context of it being simulated on a computer game, people are stuck.

From your article, what a twat. He genuinely can't see that 1 ut of 4 of his audience haven't personally been attacked by a flame thrower, and there is the difference.

Just looked on Jacky Fleming's website and looked through the postcards. Most were hilarious but I hate the whole, 'oh men! They never doing any cleaning.' I know for some, this is an actual problem and that some men don't bother cleaning or think they should. But, the message in the postcards on the topic seemed to be that men don't notice cleaning needs doing, bloody idiots. It seems to me to be an extension of stereotyping the behaviour of men through humour such as the bloody awful 'little monkey'', 'I'm a boy therefore I am cheeky and naughty' type t-shirts I come across when shopping for my toddler. It puts the idea out there that this is what boys and men are all like, this is what we should expect of them.

I just want to shout: It's not all men!

It makes me cross. Yes, some men are like that (so are some women) but these sorts of jokes perpetuate stereotypes and I can't see that that is helpful.

yep Pam - those ones stood out to me too, as not really fitting with her others.
