Resources for learning about feminism for 12/13 yr olds?

Hi,
I'm an English teacher at a girls' school and I want to use some resources on feminism for a 'controversial issues' unit next term. (It's depressing that feminism can fit into this topic but given the attitudes prevalent at my school I think it very much does!). Could any of you help me out with suggestion some accessible reading/advertising/archive material which I could use? Thanks loads.

I've just finished reading 'my own story' by Emeline Pankhurst. I found it very interesting and in places so angry how the government basically lied about introducing a suffrage bill.

At one point the government of the day (coalition so topical) were considering giving men 'universal' suffrage but not women, or possibly women who owned a certain amount of property.

The contrast in how the women were treated compared with protesters for 'home rule for Ireland' is striking. Particularly when the women attack property but have a policy of not hurting people.

Another aspect to look at might be 'social media', obviously suffragettes did not have twitter, but the post was delivered several times a day so they often sent postcards to each other and received replies a few hours later.

You could compare this with the twitter campaign recently to have a woman on an English bank note. Also the hate mail/speech is very similar, although the written word in newspaper letter columns is not as direct as the language used on twitter, the sentiment is the same. The actual physical attacks on women however is more direct such as suffragettes being stripped of some or all of their clothes in public

talks about an incident in Belfast where suffragettes were "making a nuisance of themselves" and were attacked by a group of female factory workers, and were then rescued by the police.
