I have just seen this ad which made me a bit Hmm.

I only had one eye on it, it was set to the song 'she's a lady'.

Anyone else see it?

Haven't seen the ad yet but we don't touch KFC anyway due to the way they treat their chickens Sad

I didn't know there was an ethical issue with them.

Don't think I have ever eaten one though.

Last year a friend showed me a campaign on YouTube about the way KFC keep their chickens before they slaughter them...it was disgusting Sad
We keep chickens in our back garden....we are chickens lovers Smile

That's odd, the company DH works for supplies chicken meat to KFC and they keep and kill their chickens very humanely, I wouldn't have a freezer full of chicken if they didn't.
Are people confusing KFC in the US, where they probably have their own farms, and here in the UK, where British farms supply the meat?

I haven't seen the ad, so can't comment on it.

That maybe true, maybe it is just in America as the celebs campaigning against KFC are American...ie- Pamela Anderson .
The film was enough to put me off anyway tho.....Sad

malificence - how do you define humanely? Are they in cages, or in barns? I don't believe for a second that KFC uses free range. How many birds are kept per sqm?

Yep I've just seen this advert and it's sooooo annoying. I did think it generally showed how discourtesy is rife nowadays (rather than women expecting 'special treatment' because they are female-treatment which was created and sustained by both men and women through the ages as a result of inequality...) but then it's clearly also sexist. Were women not welcome here before? Were women made to feel fried chicken wasn't for them but now happily KFC's Colonel is allowing them through his doors? More irritating than anything else though...

I saw it this morning, thought it was a pile of lazy, cliched rubbish but it didn't really offend me.

How funny - I just saw this ad today and wondered whether someone would post about it!

Awful ad!! The most stupid bit being in my view when she huffed and grimaced about the newspaper-reading guy not giving up his seat for a pregnant woman, and with lots of eyeballing in his direction she gave up her seat. Why would she not do that immediately without the furious glares at him?! She was not pregnant btw!

Well I think it is patronisingly sexist and yes, clichéd.

Woman raises eyebrows at her male colleagues because she (being weak and feeble, presumably) is having to carry the water cooler refill.

Disgruntled woman has to offer up her train seat to a pregnant woman as her male neighbour doesn't.

Woman in bar annoyed that she's not served before man.

2 women have a door close in their faces as men haven't held it open for them.

Over thinking it, in my opinion. It's just an advert, clearly aimed at the female audience. Made me giggle actually, as the door thing happened to me earlier. :D

I first saw this ad a few days ago and immediately thought of Mumsnet! Grin

Agree with the point above - strange advertising strategy to promote KFC specifically towards women, I dont think I previously ever felt that I couldnt have one because I am a girl!
