I've just watched this and thought it was good in that the leader (as in, self appointed leader of the group) was female, and the the women in general didn't simper and wait to be rescued. Not to mention they weren't all stick thin. Plus I did like the way the "lead man" (as such) casually dropped the fact that he sewed into the conversation.

It is a good movie isn't it? Never considered it in a feminist light but then I read all the books as a kid before I gave this stuff much thought.

In fact thinking about this makes me cringe at the TV series 'the Walking Dead' even more. The women in that show basically spend their time washing clothes, rarely trusted with guns or weapons.
