thank you all. I tried a dry Reisling and it went really really well.
Vouvray may work or any of the fuller medium whites which have a bit more body than the wimpish Pinot Grigio.
Second gewurtz or riesling or possibly vinho verde.
Gewurtraminer or a dry Reisling goes well, as would a fairly robust Chardonnay.
What white wine goes really well with Indian spiced food?
