Been there Done that...in my 20's.Wanted so Much to Drink a cold Wine in the evenings; Didn't Know I was Hooked.Talked to the Doctor-he took me Completely Off of Wines...and Knocked me Flat with something like a "Valium" in those days. I learned to go to bed Early,take my Pill...and Sleep Off the Impulse.After 8 Days,I no longer drank nor wanted the Wine.
i did take 2 weeks off in august to lose weight for am all inclusive holiday. only time for bt least 15 years. how depressing ,. not that i Dont enjoy it and Dont really consider myself to have a problem. well i know other people Dont do it. especially in the week. i feel stressed coming home and drink and carry on until i feel tiddly... anyway yawn yawn boring subject for everyone lets leave it.
That's a lot, far more than the recommended units per week. You have probably built up a tolerance over time, do you ever take a night off from drinking?
I used to be in similar habits - automatically cracked open wine during dinner and continued throughout the evening. I was carrying at least an extra 3 stone in weight and although I didn't realise it at the time, it really affected my mood. Can you find something else to do in the evening to break the habit?
