My 8yr old DS is stunt scooter mad and has seen tricks which involve twisting the scooter above his head. I have banned him from doing any stunts where the scooter is lifted up by his head or face but I can't be sure he is not trying the stunts when I'm not watching, or whether his desperation to try the stunts is just bravado. His 9th birthday is coming up and I would like to get him a good scooter helmet, but I'm really worried that he will see this as a message that it is ok too try these tricks, even though I don't want him doing them, even if he HAS got a helmet on. I have talked to him about the dangers and even shown him pictures of children with brain damage, but he has an attitude of "it won't happen to me". Help. Any idea, please???
