Books on parenting for 3yrs+...

looking for guidance/inspiration...

ds is three and all the books on toddlers seem to young for him. He is a very lively little boy, endless energy and can be very loving and affectionate, but also v.obstinate and angry. Looking for parenting books to read, and also books with activites...

I like routines, they work well with him, he is happy when he knows what's happening and likes to take an active part in the household then. We dont have a tv, but have dvd player and internet, but I dont like him having access to these and am planning to buy new furniture that keep them out of reach!

I like outdoor activities for children, not put off by bad weather! Also, prefer parenting methods that rule by love rather than fear IYSWIM. I want to encourage him, build his confidence and independance rather than simply make him obey rules, but in practical terms I think I am probably somewhere in between the two.

So.....with all this in mind, can anyone suggest some books I might like/find useful?

tbh it sounds to me like you are doing fab without books

you could try how to talk so kids will listen if you really want something to read

secondcoming can you tell me a bit more? tbh found the website bit offputting- all the workbooks etc I spose...maybe a little structured for me. Also, found it difficult to get a sense of what it's really 'about'. Is it preparing children for school?

thanks bigchris suspect it may be my confidence as much as ds i need to work on!
