Don't know if anyone has mentioned this on here but I would wholeheartedly recommend it. It is unlike anything I have ever read before, incredibly diverse in it's subject matter, funny, moving and gripping.

I finished it last night. Agree, very interesting...and entertaining in places. Good mix of historical and personal.

I loved his other book "The Food of Love" and "The Wedding Officer" is not too bad. I'll need to keep a look out for this, thanks.

Ooh thanks for the tip on other things he's written, I'm about a third of the way through 'The Various Flavours of Coffee' and really enjoying it.
