I really liked all her books, but this one.....so depressing it really shocked me. I almost want to ask Karin if she's alright.

I was sooooo upset with the ending of this too....and bloddy in fact as it was the last page and I had been reading until the early hours of the morning to finish it, and then had to start ANOTHER book to try and stop me sobbing myself to sleep!!!!!

I reckon karin has 'issues' this time around

On her website karinslaughter.com you can read that it's not a dream: Jeffrey is really really gone. And next year there'll be the next Grant County sequel, called Genesis.
I finished Skin Priviledge last night, and I'm still feeling totally shocked that Jeffrey had died. Never in a million years did I expect this to happen!!!!!

Ikwym, I was so shocked when I read it!

Btw, I thought crystal meth was like speed? Or is that something else?

Jeffrey really is dead and wont be coming back. I was devastated reading that last chapter as I had a feeling something was going to happen to Jeffrey.

The new book Genisis will be out next and both Sara and Lena's life have changed dramatically. I just hope that Lena is no longer involved with Ethan as it was him who ordered Jeffrey's murder.

I also wonder how Sara will move on as I dont think she will ever be able to love anyone else wit the passion she and Jeffrey had. I also wonder will she continue with the adoption.

It was a shocker, wasn't it. WHY???!!!! Just as everything had calmed down. I had to read the ending 3 times because I thought I must have read it wrong

Erm. Maybe you will all hate me but I'll be quite pleased when she finds new characters to write about! Much as I loved Sara and Jeffrey - as I did - this last book was not up to standard at all (apart from the ending ;) ). Sara had nothing to do but twiddle her thumbs!

So glad to find I wasn't alone!! I was completely shocked (and a bit disappointed she didn't do more with the negligence case - it just seemed to fizzle out). I'd had a double whammy on reading this as I'd not long finished the latest Quintin Jardine where another (!) well loved character was bumped off.

I was thinking while reading Skin Privilege that it's about time the author got some new characters to write about, how many more dramas can happen to Lena and Sarah and their families? But I didn't want it to end the way it did. I found it sad that Hank had been mistreated all those years by Lena, but very happy that at last Lena would become a somewhat normal person having found out just what sacrifices Hank had made for them.
The fact that so many questions re Lena and Hank were answered for us was great and made the book so enjoyable and satisfying. But did it HAVE to end that way????? I was just getting over crying for Hank then Jeffrey!!! No way to end a series. Please don't continue with the series with just that pathetic Sarah. Lena I can put up with, but not Sarah, pllllease.

Ooops you can see I didn't read this posting when I commented on the book. So, there IS a follow on and Sarah and Lena are in it. I supposed I'll just have to read it and see if it's any good. It'll be a test for whether or not I'll continue reading Karin Slaughter books.

Hi I was very shocked too, I am not the only one! I didn't know about the next book I thought the Grant County stories ended with Skin Privilege. Although I love crime book I am romantic too so hopefully half way the new book or maybe in the near future KS will make Jeffrey to return using one of her great twist.
