A short Story

I was wondering if you would be kind enough to read a short story I have written. Its basically about school bullying.

-----

I woke up this morning at 6am, but Mum said I was not to get up until 7. I?m just too excited and I think she knows this which is why she didn?t get mad.

I ate my breakfast quickly and made myself feel a little sick, I didn?t really want anything but Mum insisted I should eat something, I?m just too excited!

I carefully put on my new uniform which Mum had spread over my bed, I look so smart. My black skirt, tights, crisp white shirt and red cardigan?Dad says I look so grown up! I?m 5 after all, I?m not a baby anymore.

I rushed out of the door with Mum trailing behind, she told me to calm down but I?m just so excited, my first day of school!

Down the street all of the children looked the same as me, they wore the same uniform although the boys wore trousers and not a skirt, I think the girls looked smarter and more grown up. The boys will be covered in mud by dinner time anyway!

My classroom was so exciting with lots of bright colours on the walls, grown up desks for us to sit at and a nice comfy carpet for story time. My teacher is Mrs Farrow and she?s really nice, she told us a story about a bear and a cat who became best friends. My best friend is Summer, she has brown hair and brown eyes but a red cardigan like me. I think we will be best friends for ever.

I woke up this morning at 7am when my alarm went off. I went downstairs to have my breakfast. My Mum asked me if I was excited about being in Year 2, I?m grown up now, almost 7 years old and my uniform is a whole size bigger than last year.

I had a bowl of Shreddies for my breakfast and me and Mum left for school at 8.30am. Down the street I saw all the children that looked like me, the same red cardigans although the boys wear jumpers I think the girls look much more grown up.

My classroom is next to my old one and still has bright colours on the walls and a colourful carpet but my teacher this year is Mrs Donald and she?s quite strict. My bests friends are Lucy and Casey, sometimes Summer and Lorna call us names and trip us up but we don?t care because they?re stupid and they smell a bit too. I hate Summer.

I woke up this morning at 7.15am. My alarm went off at 7am but I was too tired and turned it off. Mum shouted of me in the end in case I was late.

I had my Shreddies and then Casey came to call for me and we walked to school. Mum doesn?t take me anymore, I?m almost 9 and grown up enough to walk to school on my own.

Down the street we saw the children in the red uniforms, some of them look really small. In the playground we saw Lucy, Summer and Lorna, they?re all horrible and don?t speak to us anymore but its ok, we hate them anyway and me and Casey are best friends and don?t need them spoiling our games.

Our class room doesn?t have as many pretty colours this year but we do have a computer and there is a fish tank in the corner. Summer said the ugliest fish looks like me.

I had a horrible belly ache this morning but Mum said I was well enough to go to school. I didn?t want any breakfast but Mum said I had to eat something which just made me feel worse. At nearly 11 years old I should be able to decide for myself whether I want to eat or not.

I set off to school at 8.40am. On the street I saw all the children in their stupid red uniforms, I?ve stuck a badge on my cardigan so that I don?t look the same as everyone else but my teacher will probably make me take it off.

I?m walking to school on my own today because Casey is not my friend anymore. Summer told her that I had said some mean things about her. This was not true but Summer lies all the time, it doesn?t matter now anyway because Casey is now friends with Summer, Lucy and Lorna so I won?t have to speak to her anymore.

Our new classroom is horrible, it has number charts on the walls and stupid poems about people from the olden days that nobody really cares about anymore, anyway. Summer and Casey sit together on a desk at the back and Lorna sits with Lucy who has told the class that I have a disease that spreads. Its only eczema but they?re all too stupid to know what that is. I sit at the front of the class, near the teacher with Wayne. Nobody likes Wayne because he smells a bit and his clothes are old fashioned but its better than sitting on my own. In the playground Summer kicked me hard in the shin and now I have a bruise, the teacher just told me to sit with my friends and so I sat on my own, on the wall. When I stood up as the bell rang, a group of kids said that the wall was infected because I had touched it. They throw each other onto it to make them catch germs and everyone laughs. I can?t wait until home time.
