I love audio books on my ipod and am going on holiday in a couple of weeks so would like to purchase and download a new one.

I have all the HArry Potter (I know I'm sad!) and I also like the Jodi Piccoult (even sadder!). I read a lot and really like biographies (of the non-famous type), especially historical ones. I don't want to just pick a book that I currently have on my shelf and get the audio version- I would like something new.

Anyone else into Audio books and can recommend a good one for me?

I just listened to Amy Tan's, Saving Fish From Drowning on my ipod on holiday this summer and really enjoyed it.

How do you get your audiobooks? There are cheaper ways to get them than buying them! Here in the USA the libraries have wide selection and there is also audible.com (get a discounted trial membership). Also, there are tricks for getting audiobooks to work well on an ipod. I did a lot of research on this before buying my nano ipod at the beginning of the summer!

What are the No1 Lady Detective ones about?

I get my audiobooks through itunes unless I have bought them on CD (which I do with all the Harry Potter ones). I am fairly sure the libraries here do not have downloadable audiobooks. If you mean borrow the cd's from the library and download them onto your ipod, then that would only be legal presumably if you delete it after listening to it once.

What rae the tricks you are talking about? I have problems Harry Potter (and other) audiobooks that have come frmo CD as they are often out of order. Any I have downloaded from itunes are fine though.
