anyone just finished reading Engleby?

What did you think? I read that it was almost entirey a rip-off of Camus's The Stranger but its been 20 years since I read that so I neither noticed or cared.

I thought it was excellent, dark, gripping and often laugh out loud funny (though weepingly sad too, at times). The anti-hero was so compelling and so mesmerizingly complicated...

Anyone else?
