Crime recommendation for DH

DH had read about five books in his life until he read the Robert Galbraith books and he is now a convert (at last). Since reading those, he has read and loved Stieg Larsson's trilogy and is about to start the next one (that someone else has written from Larsson's notes). I was wondering what I can buy him for his birthday he could move on to next. Recommendations gratefully received!

Try I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes

Also Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith

The Lewis Trilogy by Peter May, set in the Hebrides, is brilliant.

Also Robert Goddard writes very readable mysteries. I remember In Pale Battalions as particularly good.

And he might like the Shardlake series, by CJ Sansom, set in Tudor London.

RD Wingfield 'Frost' series - excellent and the banter between the characters is great.

If he enjoys Scandi crime them the kepler books are great. Hard to put down but a bit grim.

Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus series, set in Edinburgh. The very best of "Tartan Noir."
