I'm really loving the girl on the train, I really like the suspense and the diary set up. Can you recommend something else I would enjoy please.

Must be in the first person and easy to read.

I don't generally read, but I picked this one up in sainsburys and really enjoyed it.

You may like Apple Tree Yard. Just finished Julie Myersons The Stopped Heart. Pretty grim though.

Disclaimer and gone girl both similar in style to girl on a train, I'd say. Really enjoyed all of them.

Sarah Hilary, Marnie Rome books. There are three, all excellent and not your typical crime novel. The third one had just come out which I haven't read yet but loved the first two.

Sabine Durrant, Under Your Skin and Remember Me This Way. Really gripping thrillers, very well written and with twists I did not see coming.

Alex Marwood, The Wicked Girls, The Killer Next Door and The Darkest Secret. The last one is superb, with shades of McCann, but all three are excellent.

Also recommend Elizabeth Haynes - Into the Darkest Corner is great and the subsequent Louisa Smith series are really good reads.

Hi, immediately after Girl on the Train I read "I let you go" by Clare Mackintosh. Written in first person, sometimes hard and sad to read but a fantastic (never saw that one coming) twist!!!! Highly recommend x

I second Marmadukes recommendation for "I let you go", there is a twist in the middle that you just don't see coming!

Just finished it and despite it being a page turner and reading it in one sitting, I hate it.

The characterisation is very poor. I saw a discussion site where posters were saying Rachel/Megan and even Rachel/Megan/Anna might as well be one character; frankly Cathy was the only individual character. Scott/Tom are basically 1 character too the "Handsome Controlling Husband".

It’s basically a complete waste of time. It’s a shallow, entirely plot driven, draw you in book with no substance.

I hated that for exactly the same reasons as I hated The Girl on the Train.
