I thought it would be good to have a thread for those late at night moments where you really want a good book, don't want to spend too much and want to read it on your Kindle or whatever immediately.

At the moment I'm reading Where Love Lies by Julie Cohen. She's not an author I'd heard of but the story sounded interesting and it was a snip at £1.99. I'm halfway through and really enjoying it.

Great idea for a thread.

I recently read this & thoroughly enjoyed it - & it's even cheaper at £1.47

Here's The Lie by C L Taylor for 99p - it's a bit like The Beach. Really enjoyed it but there was a lot to talk about - good if you know someone else who's reading it, too.

The Letter by Kathryn Hughes is another one for 99p - I've not read it yet but it has thousands of five star reviews.

I've just bought that book, magi, on the basis of the fantastic reviews she's had. Amazing.

I have also read The Singer's Gun & Last Night in Montreal by Emily ST John Mandel & really enjoyed them. She writes well & her novels are a welcome change from all the Gone Girl genre that seems so prevalent atm.

Sadly they are both quite a lot more on Kindle, but am sure they too will be on offer soon.

I've just bought When We Were Friends by Tina Seskis for £1.19. Not a huge amount of reviews but looked good and the price dropped today.

Two terrific books I recommend are I Partridge by 'Alan Partridge' (one of the funniest books I've ever read) and Bedsit Disco Queen, by Tracey Thorn, both just £1.99 at the moment.
