Have any of you read this? It was suggested by a friend as a novel to take on holiday - light enough for holiday reading but not too light - but when I looked at the amazon reviews they were all saying that it's a novel, but not a novel at the same time? What? Should I shell out on a copy (£7.99 is a lot of money if I'm not going to like it.)

I picked up a copy in a charity shop a little while ago. Not read it yet though. It's a series of interlinking short stories in different time periods. It may have been a Richard and Judy book club choice. Not sure I'd spend £7.99 on it if unsure - see if your library has a copy first?

Thank you, I might, though I am always a little uncertain about taking library books on holiday in case I lose them/drop them in the sea/etc
