I loved A Tale For The Time Being. It was on Booker short list. I read them all and this was my favourite. A book I will keep and reread.

Just finished Just What Kind of Mother Are You by Paula Daly which was recommended on here - on the whole it was a good read. Apple Tree Yard? The Cuckoo's Calling? Both good reads.

I'm reading The Shock of the Fall at the moment. :)

I absolutely loved Ben Elton's 'Dead Famous', I know it's an old book but I've only just read it and it really sticks in the mind.

If you prefer something really fast moving and different, then I highly recommend 'Gods Inc' by Sarah King. Couldn't put it down.

I'm ploughing through The Luminaries at the moment. Quite heavy going but well written and a book that you don't want to end!

I think I've said this on at least three threads but "True Grit" by Charles Portis, Mattie Ross is one of my favourite characters.

Just read Paula Daly's new one - keep your friends close - and it is brilliant. A bit pricy on kindle but worth every single penny!
