I got Goldfinch by Donna Tart, which I'm going to spend today reading in bed. I also got Laidlaw by William McIllvany, which I read many, many years ago, but will enjoy re-reading.

I got Goldfinch by Donna Tart as well and An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth. Can't decide which to read first as I'm looking forward to both.

I got given The Goldfinch. Started it last night and can't put it down. I've been completely sucked in to the narrative and characters.

I also got given Jhumpa Lahiri's The Lowland which hasn't had great reviews but I'll give it a go.

I bought myself Rowling's Casual Vacancy which I'm enjoying as a light read on my Kindle.

We always buy each other at least one or two books every Christmas.
That's the whole family, GPs included.
I suppose it's a family tradition.

I got the Bill Bryson too. It's MASSIVE. Proving to be very readable so far.

And I got £30 of amazon vouchers which will probably be spent on Kindle books.

Doctor Sleep by Stephen King Smile Enjoying it but can't read it when in the house on my own because I'm a wimp. Not as scary as The Shining yet mind.

I bought Raising Steam and am struggling with it to be honest. Love the Discworld stuff but am definitely not feeling this one...very sad.

I got loads, in fact almost all my presents were books! Also, DH gave me a Kindle and my bro gave me an Amazon voucher! Now I come to think of it, the only person who didn't give me book related stuff was dd!

I now have:

Whispers Under Ground, Aaronovitch
The Hydrogen Sonata, Iain M Banks
Two Christopher Brookmyres
Gardens of the Moon, Erikson
Norwegian by Night, Miller

I know nothing of the last two. I have bought a cHarles Stross short story and The Etymologicon, both for my Kindle.

I can't decide whether to get some of my favourite books in Kindle format, or just to get new books for it.
