I can never decide! And yes, I have posted this in Adult Fiction... I only started fully enjoying the jokes and word play when I was in my teens.

Tintin.

DH is an Asterix fan.

I think this means we are completely incompatable.

Tin Tin all the way...

Asterix. He's brilliant.

I waste far too much time thinking about this! I love both, I can't decide. As a character, I prefer Asterix, he's more anarchic and wittier, but I prefer the Tintin books overall - Tintin himself is bland, but the supporting cast are utter genius and the plots are far tighter.

Don't get Tin Tin at all.

Asterix is king!

Oo, I like the division! Asterix is funnier I think, the names are just the best. (Is the chief called Getafix? I can't remember right now.) Though there have been laugh out loud moments in Tintin for me too. Captain Haddock trying to catch balls of floating whisky in the 'moon rocket' springs to mind.

Also, I have Captain Haddock and Tintin key rings. Not sure if that adds to the discussion...

Asterix but only the ones where the two authors worked together. After that I thought the texts didn't work anymore.

Asterix never liked Tintin
(at least they are some kickass women in Asterix)

Asterix - no competition, although ds would argue otherwise.

I do like some of the characters in Tin Tin : Thomson and Thompson, Madame Castafiore, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus but I don't know about the actual stories so much.

Julius Caeser is so good in Asterix

Asterix and THANK YOU for reminding me of its existence so I can buy them for DS.

apart from Caesar , I like the Celtic chief and his wife (who is always hankering after Paris) but I can't remember their names now.

Aw, come on more needed in the Tintin camp.

Anyone remember the opera singer, Bianca Castafiore, who fancies Captain Haddock?

Asterix, always.
Tintin is a bit weird IMO

Tintin! Love the book covers and the stories. Tintin himself is a bit annoying but the other characters (haddock, castafiore, calculus etc) are sublime

Report
Beeyump · 23/10/2013 12:20

Yes, Professor Calculus! I'd quite like a key ring of him as well.

Ooh I like both! One of my friends loves Tintin and it was him who got me into it but Asterix is funnier so that's my favourite.
