Has anyone read this? Can you give me a brief outline of the story and any thoughts about the book?
It's my book club coming up and I have been ill and not managed to read the book. I would like to be able to contribute a little to the discussion! I have started and read about 100 pages but it's very wordy for me and I am still completely lost!

I have read it, but can barely remember a thing so it obviously didn't make much of an impression! I vaguely remember it being rather wordy, a bit try hard and not really worth the effort.

I've read it. It goes on and on a lot and isn't terribly good. I was disappointed with it because it looked like just the sort of book I'd like. I read another of his too, which was equally annoying - Stone's Fall, I think.

Is this any use?

Thankyou Remus, will have a browse later when DDs are in bed and can give it my full attention. I have never not read the book in 4 years of our club, feel like i've let myself down, but from what i've read, it's terribly drawn out.
Bee, I don't think i'll even try and carry on now!

I read this years ago, can't remember much of the plot, but was really excellent and big twist at end.
