It's as the title says from the man's angle but very accurate portrayal of the woman's side - bought this for a Valentines pressie but kept if for myself & having such a laugh at the puns, & observations of the female sex by a witty author called Andrew Clover (writes column for Sunday Times on being a dad)!

It sounds like non-fiction, not adult fiction. Try there.

Its fiction alright - just half way through it. Written in a format that puts you in the minds of four main characters in their mid-thirties (various stages of crises in their relationships). Main character is dissatisfied with her house-husband (struggling to be recognised writer) & wonders what if she'd taken that other road in life....it is funny & easy to read. Just what I need after reading Mornings in Jenin.

Learn love in a week - loved this too! Hilarious observations about men, women, relationships. Cracking pace. Anyone relate to Polly with the creative, hapless, non earning other half? Feels v familiar to me. I've often wondered whether I should have married the accountant!...

*** 5 Stars! I loved this. It is an amazing novel that should be read by both men and women. A very clever fiction which intertwines profound lessons on how to be a better partner at the end of each section. And, to this slow learning man, these lessons make perfect sense! It delivers as both a very amusing read about the trials, tribulations and temptations within a modern relationship, and also as an insightful and accessible manual on the love and commitment necessary to make that relationship flourish. Genuinely, I laughed and cried. It has so much to teach about love and marriage and in such a straightforward and useful way whilst being both hilarious and touching. It beats any self-help book. I defy you not to be more in love by the end. I am, and my relationship has benefitted from the simple but essential lessons I learned. Brilliant!

I got this book free from Mumsnet-it is not a book I would have thought to read previously, but I have to say I loved it! The observations on love, relationships and marriage made by Andrew Clover are so spot on, and yet I've never come across them in any other book on relationships that I've read. The book is very witty with many laugh out loud moments and as well as poignant moments and my perspective on relationships has been altered having read it. This is a very easy and fun read with a strong impact. Highly recommended!
