Exciting read for DH

Hi, first time on this thread. In the 20 years I have known DH, the only thing he has read (outside the stuff he has to read for work) is the sports pages. Recently, I gave him Angels & Demons and he is hooked. He loves the fast pace although laments (as do I, the fairly hopeless dialogue). I am loving the fact that the TV is now (sometimes) switched OFF!!

Please, please, can anyone recommend anything else that is liekly to keep his attention?

Stuart Macbride

This chap's series of books have a really good crime/mystery thing going on. Everyone I know that has picked them up hasn't been able to put them down.

You can get them on amazon btw!

A Game Of Thrones. Really can't recommend it enough, and if he likes that one there's (at least) six more in the series, with more planned.

Ooh seconding Game of Thrones. Disliked the TV series but currently on the 2nd book and loving it.

Second Stuart macBride. I met him at an author event a few weeks ago - he's bonkers very talented. Try the Lazarus McRae books first.

Thank you ladies.

I watched Game of Thrones and quite enjoyed it (once it had dropped the horrible violent sex schenes that spoilt the first few episodes!), but I haven't read the books. Not sure whether they would be DH's cup of tea or not.

Stuart Macbride looks justt he ticket. Like the look of his last one, Shatter the Bones, as it's about a couple of X-factor type celebrities who are kidnapped. He should enjoy that one!

Shatter the bones is part of a series- all of it is fab. Honest. Start from the start (Cold Granite) and that's you sorted for presents for the next 6 or so occassions Wink
