What have I done wrong?

Hi everyone,

Been doing Smart Points now for three weeks,
I have 5 stone to loose.
I have stuck religiously to my points allowance and used half my weekly at weekends.
So far I have lost 6.5 lb .

So my question is surely I should be loosing more!
I have reduced my normal calorie intake immensely.
I wonder if I'm eating too much fruit?
I eat 5 pieces of fruit and 3 veg per day.
Smart Points says fruit is 0 points but I'm beginning to wonder? Confused

I haven't done WW. Losing a pound or two a week is sustainable and good. Weigh a pound of sugar. It's actually rather heavy!

Thanks Wolfie

I did weight watchers way back and we were told to stay off the fruit. It's better but it's still full of sugar.

Thanks guys Flowers
There is so much conflicting advice out there.
If we follow Health Agency guidelines then we should be eating ten portions of fruit n veg a day Hmm

You are right but I thin it is variety not quantity.

You are averaging two pounds a week which is a good amount to lose. Remember slow and steady wins the race!

I would up the veg. Lower the fruit. It's high in sugar.

My ww lady told me fruit in its natural form is natural sugar so is good. Just not too many bananas. Your weight loss sounds like mine, just keep going with it. Those pounds all add up.

My real worry is, if I'm loosing such small amounts now at the beginning of my "journey", what will I be loosing six weeks in?
I always understood first few weeks weight was big because of fluid etc then six weeks in you would start to even out at 0.5 to 1lb per week.
Perhaps I'm overthinking Confused

Thanks all for your replies.

I would swap over the fruit and veg so 5 portions of vegies and 3 of fruit a day. But six pounds is a lot. In how many weeks?

Keep going! It's a great, sustainable loss, but track your measurements too. I think smart points is a difficult diet, so you've done well.

Bagina thank you.i think measuring would be a good idea.

6.5 pounds in 3 weeks is pretty good.
It can be worthwhile to track food which is 0points too. Just so you think about how much you are eating.

6.5lbs in 3 weeks is really good and healthy! Well done!

What you have to remember is that 5st didn't appear overnight, so losing isn't going to happen over night. Don't be disheartened, you're doing all the right things. Do use your weekly points though, they're there for a reason.

Good luck xxx

I think measuring is so much more important than weighing. I am doing lots of exercise and so I am not loosing as much weight as I would like but I am changing shape. 21 inches+ lost as of last measurements. I also wish I had taken photos weekly. I still struggle to see the difference and think it would have been obvious in photos. That is a great loss in 3 weeks though

That's 3 bags of sugar, or 8 tins of beans.
pick up that weight and carry it around the house for 10 minutes: it will remind you how much less weight you are carrying all the time already. 6.5lb is brilliant OP.
If you want to cut your sugar and eat more veggies then do, but realistically you need to focus on how well you are doing.
