Weight Loss Boot Camps - I'm Considering it but wanted to find out others experiences

Hi everyone

I've discovered I'm shocking at losing weight. BC (before children) I always just maintained a reasonable size. But now I need to loose around 3-4 stone in weight (yikes).

I'm getting desparate and wanted to find out if anyone had been to a weight loss boot camp - if so, did it work long term or just for the week you were there?

I'm sick of being fat. I like to be active- I prefer skiing and diving holidays to lazy holidays but my size is becoming a real problem. I just can't seem to find the answer for myself.

I've joined the local leisure centre and I'm managing to go 3 or 4 times a week to classes. I guess I should just persevere with that for a while. I just feel I need a really good kick in the arse to get myself started.

Hi,
I have been to a couple of military boot camps and they worked for the week but I put the weight back on again.

Then I went to a wonderful place called NuBeginnings www.nubeginnings.co.uk and it changed my life.

I have lost over 50lbs since staying there and I feel wonderful. It was expensive BUT it was definitely worth it.

If you have any questions please ask - also if you decide to book pls tell them my name as I will get a discount on a future stay and I am saving up to go back!

Best wishes,
Val

Wow! Thanks so much for responding (I'd lost hope anyone would)
I did look at lots of these "weight loss boot camps" online. I did get the feeling that most of them were gimicky and just a general feeling that they didn't consider (or care) about long term needs of the people who were clearly desperate enough to take a step like this.

I'm just so fed up of not being comfortable in my own skin. I'm frustrated that I can't seem to maintain a continued long term change that's required for me to find myself again.

If nubeginnings offers this - surely, it's priceless.

Can I ask (feel free not to answer) how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Did it really change your eating habbits - exercise regime - general health?

I need to lose at least 3 stone (preferably 4) How long has it taken you to lose 50lbs? It's amazing that you've lost that much. Huge congrats! You must be so proud of yourself!

BOOTCAMP BEACH - Bournemouth
Another boot camp well worth considering is Bootcamp Beach in Bournemouth. It has wonderful aftercare, as well as offering a great fitness and weight loss boot camp at truly affordable prices, from only £60 a day. Have a look at the website www.bootcampbeach.co.uk

Whatever boot camp you decide to attend - good luck. Boot camps are a great way to kick start weight loss and fitness and put you in touch with a community of like-minded people who will motivate you and encourage you all the way to meeting your goals.

NuBeginnings Weight Loss Retreat

Sorry it has taken me so long to answer you i have been away.

I am 5ft 4 and I now weigh 13stone (I will let you do the sums)

NuBeginnings completely changed everything about me. My eating habits are totally different and I am really motivated to exercise. It still seems weird to find losing weight so easy. I battled with my weight (and myself) for over 15 years.

I know I sound a bit evangelical about NuBeginnings but it really did change my life. I recommend it with all my heart.

Their website is www.nubeginnings.co.uk if you want to take a look for yourself.

Good luck!

I know this thread is ancient, but just wondered if you would still recommend nubeginnings? I'm looking into it at the moment.
Not sure you'll see this message but thought I'd try.
Thanks.
