Ok I lost 4 stone over the last 2 years and rather more than I had realised has sneaked back on again. I am going on holiday in 4 weeks and after my boob job at xmas it was supposed to be my first ever bikini holiday, not looking very likely at the moment.
I do not exceed 2000 cals a day, i barely drink and I excercise so I think I am going to need something drastic to shift it again.
which works best?

I'm doing the Cambridge Diet and have lost 20lbs in 4 weeks. It is a fairly drastic diet but is working well for me. might be a good option if you want quick results rather than a long term eating plan. have a fab holiday whatever you decide!

ww has always worked for me

easy to use

eat what you like - no sins as such

count your points - and it helps you to change your whole way of eating rather than a crash/panic result

If you check out www.cambridge-diet.com you can search for a counsellor in your area and it tells you all about the diet. You just pop in to counsellor once a week to get weighed and pick up food packs for the following week. I am planning to switch over to SW in a month or so to lose the rest. Jut needed something fast to get me started and keep me motivated!

Drastic diets don't work! You will just put it all on again. Do it slowly (no good for holiday I know) BUT if you change your habits forever you might be in with a chance

I did lighter life, lost 5 stone in 7 months but 2 years later i'm 6 stone heavier. THEY DONT WORK!

Bit of a sweeping statement imo. I am doing it to get rid of baby weight from DC2 (6 months old), don't have a long standing serious weight problem or poor eating habits. Just ate like it was going out of fashion in both pregnancies. It doesn't matter how you lose the weight, if you go back to eating more calories than you burn afterwards you will regain it. That is true of any diet.

I lost most of the 4 stone just by eating under 1500 cal ady and going to the gym loads, both of which I am quite happy to do again, the problem was towards the end I found I was having 1500 cals worth opf choc and crisps and just not eating any good food, I think it was just that after 2 years I got bored but I feel ready to start again now, Do you think anyone wants to do a weekly weigh in starting now, or shall I join one of the other ones?
I always find it helps if there is someone there judging you.

OK I have decided on calorie controlled,
the plan is
800cals for 3 days
1000cals for 4 days
1200cals for 1 week
and then 1500cal until at target weight.
does that sound ok, I also plan to do a lot of excercise.

Ok I don't think I can actually do that I am starving now, Might go back to sw, is on tonight.
I have done okay today but I don't think i could manage much longer on 800cals, I am very hungry.

sw works for me. I lost 2 1/2 stone from last October until early may. Have now been at target for 6 weeks and am still dead on my goal weight.
I've found that I naturally eat in the same way that I have been for the last few months with just an extra glass of wine here and there.
Have done the drastic thing before and put the weight back on again. It's still early days but I feel like i've reached the dieters holy grail with sw and relearnt how to eat

well I jopined, again. I weigh 6lbs more than when I joined last time . At least I hadn't put the weight I lost before that back on. I could have died walking in there but it was OK.
