I'm on day 1 - having regained some of the weight I lost on CD last year. Am full of if only's and have been struggling for weeks trying just to eat healthily in order to avoid the drastic step of CD!! Would be great to get a support thread going

I am! , This is my third time on it, and on day 8.
The last two times got to about 12lbs to target, and self sabotaged it all due to illness and feeling crap.

I'm determined not to spend the next decade ( 30 next birthday) yo-yoing the same few stone as I have done throughout my twenties.

I don't have the excuse of "I've just had a baby" anymore, and my medical woes were cured with a thyroidectomy last year, so no more excuses this time!!

Ive got 3 stone to go, how about you?

Hi wisp. Like you I got to about 12 lbs from target thinking I was slim enough but now think I should have kept going. This time I've got to lose about 2 1/2 st to get to where I'd really like to be. I've been a real yo yo dieter since having my dc's (the eldest is now 7) and that equals a ling time feeling unhappy with how I look in and out of clothes! Great you've got to day 8. How are you finding it?

Hi hattie and caykon!
Nice to know we all have similar amounts to lose, It was my weigh in yesterday, and I lost 7lbs in my first week

Unfortunately had some awful 48 hour sickness bug yesterday, and after much pestering from my mum, who'd come to look after the children, I ate a piece of toast to try and settle my stomach pain, and it worked. Cue me feeling overwhelmed with guilt and I binged last night because of it

Still have a long way to go with the mental/emotional issues of food, that seems to be my downfall every time. However back on SS today, and feeling positive!

hattiejacques · 23/05/2008 14:54

I wouldn't worry about a piece of toast under the circumstances. Hope you're feeling better and well done on losing 7lbs!

I've just realised you had more than a piece of toast! The important thing is that you're back on SS and if you drink loads you probably will get away with it completely.

Haha oh yes alot more than a piece of toast! beans on toast, crisps and a bowl of cereal! Think I needed carbs!
But yes back on plan, no way one bad days going to put me off this time!

Hows day one going so far?

I've got a headache and the expected hunger pangs! I'm going to miss my wine tonight but am determined to get through these first few days without giving in. I'm going on holiday in 5 weeks and want to stay focused on losing a good bit before I go

What a great incentive you have hattie! In 5 weeks time, you'll have lost loads!

Keep drinking the water, I used to have the minimum 2 1/2 litres, but upped it to 4 litres this time, and it does really help with those evil pangs!

I also have to face all the emotional issues to do with food, else I am just going to keep yo yoing

Me too. That's the hard bit. Last time I did CD I loved sole source and didn't cheat for 6 weeks but I found the whole food thing really difficult when I started even 790. I didn't regain the weight straight away but after a few months I just started eating my comfort foods again and then felt I couldn't give them up. I bought Marisa Peer's book and CD and it was excellent but still not enough to stop me!!

I live in hope the way around my emotional food issues is that when I am at target, I will feel so good about finally getting there after 10 years, I will then have the incentive to watch what I eat to maintain my weight.
I'm already planning on following weightwatchers points when I'm there, so at least I have knowledge of when to stop, or if I do have that cake, then I need to stuff less into my mouth at dinner time to compensate!

That sounds like a good strategy. I was a bit stupid to think that being slim would be enough to stop me eating too much. I would always think I can be good tomorrow! Much better to have a regular style of healthy eating that allows for treats too. I could write a book on it - I've read so many!!

My bookcase has dozens of diet books too, Ive tried every one going!
I agree about having a regular style of healthy eating, and as a sugar addict I'm going to find a way of still getting my treats but in moderation- I'm only kidding myself if I say I'm never having sugar ever again after Cambridge!

Hi I'm still here and going strong. Yesterday was dreadful. Awful hunger pangs and headache all day. Felt ill but has thankfully passed now. Am officially in ketosis and determined to stay there after the trauma! Have already lost 6 lbs so there's great incentive to carry on. How are you 2 getting on? Btw which days do you get weighed? I'm going tomorrow to re stock and be officially weighed

Hi everyone. Hope you're all sticking with it. I've had an awful headache again and hunger pangs which I never had before on the diet except initially. So struggling a bit but doing what I should be. Drinking loads as well so hoping I'll feel better soon. Wisp what is your goal weight? It's great you're in the 10's. I'm 5 4" and I'd like to get to 9 7lbs although I used to be 8 7lbs in my younger days I think I'd be too skinny and gaunt at that weight now.

I'm not on CD but looking to do it to shift my baby weight, have 3 1/2 stone to go.

Couple of things, how easy do you find it to stick to? Easier than restricted food dieting?

Do you feel terrible on it? I have a young baby and can't cope with feeling weak and pathetic!

Good luck all of you!

I did 2 weeks on the diet (lost 12lbs) but have just had four days off it.
I'm finding it really hard to get started again. I was supposed to be back on it today and did well all day but felt miserable and have just eaten some mushy peas, haddock and three chips .
I've got my weigh in on Thursday and know I will have put on weight.
