SLIMMING WORLD - So Spring is here. It's time for a fresh start. Let's look good for Summer!!

Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

Well done for going back. I went back a few weeks ago and have lost 8 1/2 pounds so far. I have 9 weeks until my friend's wedding so am aiming for 2 pounds a week now and then i'll be back to the weight I was when I left SW when I got pregnant.

Hi Sparkler

Thanks for new thread. My tail is well and truly between my legs as I fell off the waggon SO BADLY this week - and all week, not just because of easter chocs either. So tomorrow is my new start too. x

So far so good.
Measured my milk. Had a coffee, banana and mullerlight for brekkie.
Having a coffee and some chicken (leftover from tea last night) with skin removed for lunch, with some fruit.
Good I'm eating all this fruit, I know when I have my bad days I don't even look at the fruit bowl.

Hello, I'm new.
You're all so supportive - it's inspiring!

I've been doing SW since last summer and have lost 1st 8lbs. Bad week last week, but back on track now. It never gets any easier, does it?

Remember - perseverence is more important than perfection!

Can anyone help please? I have an obstacle tomorrow night. Been invited to a friend's house for her birthday. She has said they will be getting a take-away of some kind. Will probably be indian of chinese. What's the best thing to go for? Normally I would say ah well it's only one night have anything but I'm really wanting to give this a go.

I tend to go green on chinese. I order mu own portion of boiled rice to fill up on and have a little of the chop suey and chowmein. Just avoid the prawn crackers and battered sweet and sour chicken / pork balls.
Can't help on Indian as I don't eat it.

If you have a look on the sw website they do give suggestions for when eating out. Go to useful features, holidays & eating out, more holiday features.

Indian thay suggest

Starters/side orders ? curry accompaniments such as naan bread are a whopping 20 Syns each on average - popping a poppadom saves 16 Syns at just 4 Syns each. Low Syn dips include onion sambal (1 level tbsp is ½ Syn on Original and Green), cucumber raita (1 Syn for a level tbsp), lime pickle (1 level tbsp 1½ Syns on Original and Green) and mango chutney (1 level tbsp 2 Syns on Original and Green)

Chicken dishes ? fab for an Original day, Chicken Dhansak is 6½ Syns on Original and 18½ Syns on Green, Chicken Jalfrezi is 8½ Syns on Original, 18½ Syns on Green, Chicken Vindaloo is 8 Syns on Original, 20 Syns on Green and Chicken Tandoori is 9 Syns on Original, 21 Syns on Green. If you?d like rice with your Original dishes, 100g (about a medium portion) of boiled rice is only 6½ Syns! Alternatively, a crispy salad is Free!

Vegetable dishes ? great for Green, Vegetable Jalfrezi is 7½ Syns on Original and Green, Vegetable curry is 9 Syns on Green, 12½ Syns on Original, Gobi Aloo Saag is 11 Syns on Green, 14½ Syns on Original, Vegetable Biryani 11½ Syns on Green and 21 Syns on Original.

*For an average serving

Hope that helps

Nikki

Had a whoops not quite finished being a pig day yesterday but doing ok today. Got a pot of lentil soup on the hob cooking away and have bought 3 different packets of ready prepared soup/stew veg so no excuse not to cook something healthy.

Indian - stay away from the sauce, have dry dishes and don't touch the naan bread as it is really high in calaries and can push the calory count up by 700 in one go!!!

Sparkler · 30/03/2008 00:40

Okay so it was a flexible day. Went to friends house tonight and had far too many syns worth of alcohol. By that time the syns in the indian takeaway really didn't matter to me.
I promise to get back on tomorrow.

I joined SW last Thursday too!

have been doing OK, have done it before, the last time was 4 years ago and my start weight then is my club 10 now - I've bought a 6 week countdown to give me a kick up the chuffa.

It's all in the meal planning/shopping really and thinking of meals that everyone will eat.

Yestrday made a lovely curry in the slow cooker using a few spoons of pataks tikka masala, (for 3 people) lamb (hextra) onion, tin of tomatos then adding 3 dessert spoons of elmlea single cream served with a humongous plate of rice - all for 2 syns how fab is that?

dh asked where the starters were - we normaly have samosas etc. But I told him we didn't have any

I had forgotton how much better I feel when eating vegetables and healthy stuff rather than crisps and chocolate. Made a HUGE veg stew today- lentils, split peas, carrot, swede, onion, parsnip, peas mixed herbs and one veg stock cube, cooked until stock was quite low and added passata. It was gorgeous, I really suprised myself!

Does anyone fancy a challenge this week?

Since a good number of us are struggling to get back on track how about "for one week commit to the plan 100% no excuses"

I don't know about anyone else but becuase SW is so forgiving about things like flexible syns I have let things slip majorly with a meal or night out. So this week I will be pledging to simply follow the plan 100%. No setting myself up for guilt trips if I don't eat speed foods, no excuses "oh today was flexible," just a commitment to follow the plan 100%.

Hi Lisalisa!!

Well fell off the wagon again, I was at my mum's at the weekend, and she had very little in that was low syn, plus white bread etc and she was cooking. Kept urging biscuits and things on me, try not to have too many but she insists I need to eat more
Oh and AF started on Saturday! Not fair, DS is only 13 weeks and still feeding every 2-3 hours!!! Waahhhhh!!!!
Being extra good today and tomorrow (Weigh in)
I'll join you in the 100% challenge, starting from today until next Tuesday. Got no excuses not to follow plan next weekend as not going anywhere.
Would like to take ds out for a walk but expecting someone to come and pick up old washing machine. Might just go out anyway even if it for just half an hour but he is asleep atm!

Katy - it's bowling

Would it be an idea if we have list of who's who, how much we've lost so far and how much you want to lose in total? Perhaps include your weigh-in day as well?
What do you think?

I'll start it off and if you want to continue copy and paste my stats into your post then add your own (like they do on the AN threads).
