Weight gain/loss and ovarian cysts

I have ovarian cyst and two in my womb. I normally stay at a steady weight but have found I have put on half a stone and my middle is expanding!
I'm not happy about this and going to join WW or SW this week and try and get it off!
However somebody has told me it's really hard to lose with cysts. Is this true? Surely if you want healthy you won't put weight on??
