Do you think it can lose 8-10 lbs 2 weeks? if i stick to around 1200 calories a day and walk, won't be able to do much exercise. I really need to lose this for a special occasion:( currently very stressed about it, has anyone lost that amount in that time? xx

I joined weight watchers 2 weeks ago, had my second weigh in tonight and have lost 8.5lbs in total so it can be done! Good luck!

I lost about 9.5lbs in the first week of a VLCD called slim and save.

If you're looking for that quick weight loss it might be worth trying but takes an awful lot of discipline and self control.

It depends on how much weight you have to lose overall. When I went to WW the people who had a lot to lose often lost 6 or 7lb a week in their first week. Those who were a stone overweight to start with would only lose 1 - 2lb in their first week.

Thanks name - I don't exercise although I should. I just don't have the time - I'm on my own with my DD during the week as DH works away, and I work full time, so I barely get time to do anything!

I was just very strict with what I ate - mostly porridge with fruit for breakfast, some form of salad for lunch, and chicken and vegetables (or similar) for dinner. It took a lot of self control as I do enjoy a good pizza!

Unlikely that 5+ lbs "lost" is fat loss. Increased vegitables, decreased salt will have you empty your bowels and rid your body of additional fluids (water retention).
Decreased calories and limited exercise will realistically result in 1 lb loss per week IF even that depending on your age and sex.
