Harcombe Diet?

I did a search on the Harcombe diet and found a few old threads, so might have missed a more recent one.

Does anyone want to join a support thread? I am starting Phase 1 day 1 today.

I have not weighed myself in ages.... about to do that. But I have at least 3 stone to lose and am desperate. I bought the book off amazon and plan to follow the menu plan in it exactly. (minus the bacon for breakfast as we do not have any on).

Just weighed myself - I thought I would be over 13 stone but am 12 stone 8. I am please with that! I am aiming for between 9 stone 10 and 10 stone 1.

Did okay for day 1. Ham and eggs for breakfast, no lunch as I was not hungry and got very busy at work and then grilled pork steaks with onions, tomatoes, sweet corn and cauliflower. :)

Me please! I followed this diet previously and loved it. Lost 2 stone and kept it off. But struggled since having ds (18 months) and put 1.5 stone back on. Started the diet this week am 13st 2 so lost 3lb so far. Aiming for 12st so a long way to go! I find I do brilliantly in the week and can lose 3 or 4 lb but ruin it at the weekends and put most of it back on!

Ooh are you? I've not allowed myself! But may go on Saturday evening which is the end of day 5!!
I've felt dreadful. The last 3 days such a hideous headache and felt so ill! Wasn't sure if a virus, but think it might be the diet...?

Hi to scarlet too!

I'm finding it a lot of planning for meals though. Keep roasting lots of veg!

So far I've had bacon and eggs for breakfast every day. Veg omelette for lunch first day, second I had brown rice and roasted veg. Dinner pork loin and roast veg! Chicken and stir fried veg! And am having chicken and stir fry veg tonight too! Think I'm doing it right?!!

Drinking fruit teas but miss my morning cuppa Wink

I have stuck to phase one except I've had skimmed milk...I can't get though work without tea! Had porridge with skimmed milk for breakfast, left over harcombe curry (it's lush) with cauliflower rice for lunch and having chicken and roast veg for tea...

Scarlet, the sound of porridge with water is not at all speaking! Are you having decaf tea?
Are your recipes from
The Harcombe recipe book? Mine is in the post...hoping for some more inspiration. I know I ate too much bread before, because it's do quick and easy and cheap!

I'm on day 4 of 'phase 1' but tbh I've just been following it from memory and need to read the book again properly! I've been drinking normal tea forgot about the caffeine thing!

Forgot to put my weight down and my goal. I was 10st 13.5lbs on Day 1 of Phase 1. Would like to get down to 10st 3lb to start with! Then see how I feel. Smile

Omg! It's day 6 today and I weighed myself this morning. In 5 days I've lost 4lbs! I'm amazed. So pleased!! Grin

I've done pretty badly :-( went out for sushi on friday night, and went to a friends for dinner last night and she cooked a big veggie curry and rice! And I had a few beers! Don't dare weigh myself this morning! Back on super phase 1 now without the caffeine and milk to get back on track!

Thanks scarlet... don't despair though...you've had a life! I haven't been anywhere but home. You can just stay on phase 1 for longer can't you? I'm now trying to get my head around phase 2 Confused
I'm drinking wine tonight..onto my second glass already Blush so hope it doesn't all go back on!!!

I had to do it by the book for phase 1 as I know me and is bend one rule, then is bend them all!

Weigh yourself when you've had s few good days xxx

I did this diet before and it was so healthy. I recommend the butternut squash curry on phase 2.

Thanks piglet. I've got some butternut squash in the fridge Smile I made a chicken, aubergine, carrots, pepper and spinach curry this evening. Was yummy! Grin

Thanks guys...I think december might be the wrong month to start a diet as we have so much stuff on but never ming! I started phase one again properly this morning..will weigh myself on Wednesday and see. That's if I make it that far without caffeine!

OK so I read the book again and I was doing it totally wrong. I ate loads of fruit and jacket potatoes with cottage cheese which I think it's actually phase 2 or maybe even a totally different diet.

Oops. I am now fully compliant with the rules...Grin

GrinGrin scarlet! Hilarious. It's quite confusing so understand why. I think jacket potato and 'low fat' cottage cheese is a phase 2 thing definitely. And you can add fruit too. Phase 1 is pretty brutal!

I'm really wanting a cup of tea. A real one with half a sugar. I tried it without sugar but I just don't really like it much. Would adding half a sugar be terrible???

How did everyone do today? I totally won at phase 1, even turning down homemade sweet potato brownies at a play date. I did have omelette twice though so may need to start being more adventurous with my ideas! Made grilled chicken and salad for lunch tomorrow so no more jacket spuds for me!
