I've started and followed these types of threads several times over the last few years with no such luck! I think that my problem in the past has been that I want fast results and really that's not necessarily going to happen. I'm giving myself 8 weeks. 8 weeks to see what results I can get. The amount of times I start a 'diet' and give up after a few days or a week. Whereas if I stick to it for 8 weeks, perhaps I may actually start to see some results. I'm not doing any fad diet. Just going to eat healthier, smaller portions (i tend to over eat!) and less sugary treats (and crisps!)
I'm not going to totally limit myself because that's when I fail. This week I will aim for 3 runs or 2 runs and a swim. I am working less this week but on the days I work I will take the train instead of being stuck in traffic, this will involve 35 mins of walking too. Will be keeping on top of putting bottles of water in the fridge. I'm also going to try and do a few stomach exercises each day, even if it's while I'm watching TV. It takes no time at all really.
Does anybody want to join in? I'm starting tomorrow? We can give support through the week and weigh in every Sunday ?
I also think now is a good time because I've got no holidays or anything booked so I will simply be doing this for me, and not worrying about not being 'bikini ready'

I originally posted this in chat but got no responses but someone recommended this section which I didn't know about! I'm going to weigh myself shortly. I've written out the dates for the next 8 Sundays in a book and will be weighing myself each sunday.

I'm in yoowoo. Have been looking for a thread to join. I started on Thursday, well I meant to start on Thursday but then arrived at work and my kind colleges had got me a Greggs breakfast roll! Not off to a great start but have been good ever since. No alcohol, no crisps, no biscuits. So far so good.

Be great to have some mutual support. I have to do something, weighed myself as I could see and feel that I was even bigger and have topped my heaviest end of pregnancy weight. So depressing. Have invested in some kettlebells. Tried the DVD last night, ridiculous, but fell virtuous this morning Grin

Sorry, that should read I'm in yoowhoo. This morning when I weighed myself I was 11.6, am short, so this for me is way too much. In eight weeks would love to have lost a stone of that but anything would be good, I just can't go up any further.

Great to have you on board. I've had a response on my other thread now too so will copy the link and send her over here :)

I don't blame you... I wouldn't be able to say no to a greggs breakfast roll either!

I'm about to weigh myself. Once I've dried off from my shower. Then it's off to lidl to buy some healthy bits. I'm visiting family but staying at a members house while they are away so buying my own food.

I just find it so much easier having mutual support. And it doesn't matter that we are all different weights.. we all have the same goal! And that is to lose some!

Me too please, am 1 year pp and have 9 more pounds to lose (possibly more after this weekend Blush), but these are the hardest to lose. Have had success with cutting out ALL biscuits/cakes/sweets/chocolate and this summer have found some usually non existent will power from somewhere so just need to keep on.

This is very timely for me yoowhoo - I'm starting today too! I'll buddy you.

Because I'm now beyond shame, I'll admit the following. I am 5' 4", but I weigh 14st 4lb (or a very round 200lb) and am a size 18. I'm obese and very unfit.

I've yo-yo dieted a fair amount (although haven't been less than 13st in over 2 years Blush ). My problem is that I have never cracked the "lifestyle change" mentality and I comfort eat.

I have downloaded a hypnotherapy weight loss app, to try and help with the psychology, and I'm aiming to eat less and move more. Giving it a chance for 8 weeks sounds good to me Grin

Today, for the first time ever in my life, I used a gym. There is a full set of free outdoor gym equipment in my local park and I did 45 mins.

Can I join? I'm 5'4" and weigh 11 stone 7. January 2015 I weighed a whopping 14 stone 4 so have done well but have another stone or so to go and I'll be happy.

I just want to eat less and move more but have lost my mojo along the line.

Can I join? I started again yesterday. I did SW successfully, lost 2 stone had a break at Christmas which turned in to a permanent break until yesterday! Managed to put 25lb back on, I could cry but it is all my own doing

Hi everyone! good to have so many on board. Thanks miri for joining this thread too! Will be easier to keep track.

I've just weighed myself, I am 11 stone 3.2 apparently. But yesterday it was saying 11 stone 1.6 on the same scales. I tried moving the scales around too but it still gave 3.2 so that's what I will go with. I will have to buy new scales this week as I will be returning home on Tuesday.

Ideally I'd like to lose about a stone. But this may be unrealistic. I have a weird shape belly, all the weight piles on there. so I want to mainly focus on toning that up and hopefully losing some weight along the way.

I think I need to change my mindset too. I get really lazy, like I can't be bothered to shower again later, but needed to shower to leave the house. I need to just tell myself that I still need to go for a run later and shower! I'm not going to lose weight by sitting on my bum!

Wow FedUp - I'm 14st 4 now; if I can get to 11st 7 I will be thrilled. Well done!

Belly is a problem area for me too. I had major abdominal surgery 2 years ago which has left it a bit misshapen. I don't think that will ever change, but I also don't think the multiple spare tyres I'm carrying are helping much.

You can do it yoowhoo - it's just one run. And then another day will also be 'just one run'... I find I get overwhelmed if I think about everything all at once. One day at a time seems less scary.

Can I join in? I have a wedding in October that I want to lose weight for. I am starting tomorrow and I have ordered in some healthy food.

Like previous posters have said, my aim is to eat less, eat healthier and move more.

I'm in! Iv put on 3 stone in a year, and it needs to go. I'm 5"4 and weigh 10st 12lb. I have lots of food issues and am very fussy so it's bloody hard. I pretty much live off bread & crisp.

Today I have a juicer being delivered so the plan is two high protein smoothies a day and a toastie/mini pizza/sandwich for dinner. Nuts as snacks and lots of water and black coffee.

I have never eaten fruit before but have found some high protein smoothie recipes online that I'm hoping I will able to stomach. I'm not even going to contemplate veg till I'm doing ok with the fruit.

I don't like cooked/hot food so I think this may actually work for me.

I'm in. My plan is to cut out booze and treats and bread during the week. And to measure out sensible portions of pasta and rice.

It's certainly do-able Miri I went to a wedding at that weight and was appalled when I saw the photos so it was the kick I needed.

I used MFP and did lots of exercise and will be starting the Shred again tomorrow so will join diamond although I hate level w so will do 15 days level 1 and 15 days level 3

Report
FedUpBird · 07/08/2016 15:17

Hate level 2 that should have said! I also have Charlotte Crosbys DVD which is good

Is the Shred v high impact? I had an operation on my knee a few months ago and it still isn't right, can't do anything that is v high impact or involves lots of bending of the knee.

STabby, I have just invested in a blender too, and plan to have a protein shake most days. I am v short of time so thought that might work.

Well done on the gym Miri, my mum has an outdoor exercise bit in the park near her, it is great but nothing near me. Realistically I am not going to have time for gym or swimming, though I'd love to. Am going to and do part of a DVD or something each day, actually realistically every other day.

I tried one of the body coach HIIT work out's on You. Tube. It was great, only 20 minutes and supposed to be great for fat burning, it was low impact, so I could more or less manage it. If you search 'easy on the knees body coach HIIT' it should come up. No equipment needed, just a big glass of water at hand!

Hope everyone has had a good day. I am terrible for scoffing down the kids leftovers but refrained completely today, apart from gobbling some kale, which, butter aside, was very healthy so seemed like a good idea to clear DS's plate of it.

Please may I join? I'm 9 months postpartum and fed up of my jeans being too tight! I'm 5 ft 2 and weigh 10st 9. I start diets with good intentions but fall off the wagon so easily every single time! I don't get much time to myself but will aim to walk lots and perhaps find a YouTube workout to do regularly! I really need to stop eating crap!

This is breakfast, cherries, oats & yoghurt. It's good but I added half a banana as the recipe called for and its all I can taste. I hate banana it won't be going in again. Flax seeds for extra protein.

I need to do some exercise of some sort but never manage it. I'm too lazy!
I keep saying I will join the gym but keep finding excuses. Don't drive, DP works late, no childcare during school hours, the list is endless but I know the gym would be my best bet.

I'm going to do an 8 week gradual weightloss starting today (7th August ) please join me

welcome new joiners :) so yesterday went ok... I ate healthy meals but then someone offered me apple pie and custard and I accepted. oops. I also didn't go for a run or do my squat challenge day 2. So instead I did day 2 this morning and will do day 3 this evening. I'm going to meet with some friends and go for a nice long walk today. I have had blueberries, apple, honey few melon and fat free natural yoghurt for bekki.

Today hasn't gone to well. I had two marmite toasties & two packets of crisp for lunch! Whoops. Will be having a smoothie for tea

Your breakfasted looked yum though, and marmite is definitely low fat surely?! Today I had courgette spirals for the first time, you can use them like spagehetti and i kid you not it was delicious and super quick. Microwaved in the bag for a minute, though you can boil them for twenty seconds apparently. Stirred in small spoonful of pesto and added prawns and it was gorgeous. So surprising. Hope everyone else has had a good day.
