7lbs in August anyone???

Rshard · 31/07/2016 16:48

Following on from June's and July's thread, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

Starting weight for August for me is 11.10.5. This is from my WW weigh in last Wednesday which is where I ended July. 7lbs would get me to 11,3.5 just in time for my holiday.

Good luck everyone!

Coming on board! Still chuffed to loose 7lb when I had a week long holiday then a short break. Fingers crossed for another good month.

BMI is 42.2. Aim is to have it below 40 by the end of August. We have a 70th this month!

I'm in. I'm at a higher starting weight, about 13 stone.

I'll confirm exactly what in the morning.

Need to lose 2 stone.

Please can I join? Am 10 stone 3 so 7 lbs would get me to 9 stone 10 which would amazing! However have just had a really bad weekend and about to pick at some leftover home made pizza so starting tomorrow sounds perfect!

Is there room for one more? I would love to lose 7 lbs. I am 10st.1.6 and terribly unfit although I walk a lot each day. I have filled the fridge with healthy food and starting today I am not going to have a pudding after my meals. I don't know if that will be enough to lose weight but I will give it a try. Any suggestions to improve my chances would be gratefully received.

Can I join too? 7 pounds is my exact goal for the month :) I've been focusing on weight loss since mid May, 18 pounds down so far and now weigh in around 13 stone. My goal is between 11 1/2 and 12 stone

I'm calorie counting and attempting low-ish carbs as a vegetarian (about 150g a day, probably doesn't seem that low carb but less than I was doing!). The other thing I'm doing is eating at 'maintenance level' at least one day a week (in practice, gives me room to go out for dinner) - seems to be working so far

Seems an appropriate thread to try out my new username on. Can I join in? I'm stuck in a permanent state of having very good intentions for tomorrow's eating. Will hop on the scales in the morning but am definitely in the 40+ BMI zone. Seven pounds lost may only be one fortieth of my body weight, but it'll soon add up, right?

Can I join too please? Am pretty shocked at my weight gain creeping up over the past year. I would like to get it under control. Am starting tomorrow! (Tries to block out Burger King meal today - bleurgh)

Hi can I join. 12 2 today and I need to lose 3 and a half stone but 7lb would be a great start. Planning to eat more carefully, avoid the biscuit tin and start 30 day shred today

I'm in. I'm too close to 13 stone since having baby 3, would like to lose a stone in total before my birthday and baby turning one (as once one the postnatal baby weight excuse is seen for what it is- too many biscuits!)
I've never really stuck to a diet before but doing 5:2 did help me lose a pound a week without too much hardship, but think this time as a kick start will do MFP as need to remind myself how many unnecessary calories there are in stuff. Will also be back to doing couch to 5k (so much harder now have additional baby to find childcare for before could run when kids at school and preschool, now I think I need to run at 7pm once kids in bed. At least would stop me sitting on sofa with wine and crisps!)

I'm in! Although I have a holiday at the end of August....any weight loss would be great as I seriously need to lose some.

I'm in! I've just weighed in at 11st 4lbs and it would suit me fine to be at 10st 11lbs at the end of this month. My overall goal is 22lbs by the end of 2016...

I shall be calorie counting using my Fitbit. I like to weigh myself daily but will see what everyone else is doing before posting it.

Morning. May I join please. I have lurked since June but cannot seem to get into the zone. This morning I am the heaviest I have ever been. Losing half a stone would be perfect for me. My aim is to make one change a day for the next month. Not just with health/weight loss but also to my wellbeing. So my first change, starting today is to log onto this thread at least once a day to keep me motivated and in the zone.

So there we are I have done it. It wasn't too hard really. Now the hard part is to keep this frame of mind for the rest of day.

I am just gonna enjoy a cup of green tea while everybody is in bed and the house is lovely and quiet. Bliss.

I'm in. Been dieting for a month now.

Mainly low carb but not strictly. I'm still eating fruit etc. I log everything I'm eating on MFP so it's broadly low carb/high fat.

I don't eat a great deal of meat and fish though. I've found having a protein shake first thing helps a lot. Then I just have lunch and dinner and the odd handful of nuts throughout the day.

I'm now 11stone 11 pounds. And my aim is to get to 10 stone on the nose by end of November.

I've never excersized but am possibly thinking of starting c25k.. Anyone done it?

Morning all!
Starting weight 67kg.
Aim is to be 64kg by the end of August, although I will be happy to get to 65 as it's my birthday this month so will be eating out a lot.
Good luck to everyone!

I did couch to 5k earlier in the year and it's really got me back into running. I'm regularly doing my local parkrun now and am attempting 7k later this morning.

Hi, I lost 4lb in total in July so will try harder in August but even another 4lb would be good. Walking lots, running again and planning to try a couple of different exercise classes, still not given up drink but maybe I should for August...

Happy August to everyone! Can I join please? I am at the same point as you Rshard and Princess. I actually came on to MN this morning to get some weight-loss inspiration so this is perfect. Smile

My story: life-long dieter. Have tried (and been successful) with almost every diet going. Two years ago (to the day I think!) I was close to my heaviest ever weight and I decided to try low carb/high fat as a way of life. The weight has steadily (although slowly) come off and I am now around 1.5 stones lighter. I don't think I will ever go back to eating bread and pasta etc to be honest, I really enjoy eating this way and don't see it as a diet. But I have put on a couple of lbs over the summer holidays too much wine so want to get back on track. Another 7lbs would see me having lost 10% of my weight from two years ago.

I have found MyFitnessPal to be the way for me, if I can stick to around 1,300 cals and record it all, it becomes habit. So I will be logging back into that again today.

Good luck everyone!

Well done chuchi; a pound a week is good and sustainable.
I don't drink so can't advise much on the giving up of the alcohol but think if you do it within your calorie allowance for the day it should be okay.
