I'm trying to work out whether a) this is achievable and b) what I should be doing to get there....
I would like to run a half marathon towards the end of September. On April the 1st I decided to take up C25K - loved it and built from there. I am now running 10k 2 or 3 times a week and 14k-ish at the weekends - I manage the 10k fine and the 14k is a bit of a push but again ok. I should say I started this very overweight with about 3.5 stone to lose - I've lost just over 2 stone now and dropped from BMI of 32 to one of 27. I know BMI is just a rough guide but I recognise I am still overweight.
So do you think a half marathon would be achievable in approx 10 weeks and if so how should I build up from here? In the week I am limited to about an hour of time I can get to exercise but can do longer at the weekends. Should I just keep upping the weekend distances? Where I run is quite hilly so lots of hillwork already built in. Any advice would be appreciated.
