I have about a stone and a half to lose - is SW the best option?

I have tried just cutting out the crap and i am exercising most days but when it comes to meals and the actual health eating side i am at a total loss. I did SW last summer for a bit and i did lose but then i stopped going one week and that was that.

I am 11 stone and want to get down to 10 pretty quickly and then to 9 1/2.

Would SW be the best option?

How long, if following SW strictly would it take to lose a stone?

Also, which do you think is best, morning or evening weigh ins? I used to go to an evening one but found i used to starve myself in the day on weigh in day!
Thanks X

I am doing WW and it is going well, as I can eat anything so long as I count it in my points. I lost 3 stone in 9 months after I had DD1 so it does work.

I have tried SW and lost nearly a stone in a month, but then, like you, I missed a week and somehow I didn't stick to it anymore. People do seem to lose a lot quite quickly on SW, but you don't have so much to lose, so maybe you need to aim for 1-2lbs a week?

I am now going to a morning weigh-in, which suits me better.

Good luck!

well i went and joined a local morning group today but dont feel very inspired or motivated. It was full of elderly ladies and no one was chatty or friendly - not even the consultant. tbh it put me off and i left and getting weighed.

Think i may just go and get weighed each week as i cant really stay the hour and a half that the rest of them do as i have to pick dd up from playgroup.

anyway - weighed in at 11 stone 2 lbs.

Hi

I am doing WW. Started last week, also want to lose a stone - stone and a half.

I went to a 'weigh and go' so I could bring dd It wasn't great for £4.95 I must say, long queues, very busy, no help/advice. They were going to be giving a talk for newcomers but I didn't have time to stay. Still, I find having to go and get weighed weekly does help me so I am going to keep going for as long as I can!

Good luck with SW!

do you think it is pointless to do it unless i stay to the groups?

Depends on what you get out of them and your willpower I guess.

I will definitely go for the first few weeks, once I am used to the diet I will probably just do it myself.

did you join SW in the end? My WW group is also full of retired ladies, with a few mums with babies or toddlers who can't always stay to the meeting (like I couldn't today).

Could you try and stick with it for a few weeks just to get into it and get back on track?

hiya, i do sw and find it better than ww as i can eat unlimited amounts of fruit when im hungry. ive been on sw diet for around 7 months and lost 2 and a half stone. although i think this is slow weight loss, apparently the slower you loose it the longer it stays off. i can honestly say that i have changed my views on food. i do 'cheat' and have weeks where i go back to eating like i used to. but i then just write that week off and start again fresh the next week. i do agree about the group meetings. i have done ww too and found the meetings to be alot of help because they always had a theme.i find the sw meetings quite boring as we all just sit in the room and listen to how the other members have gone on. although this might help other people, i find it does nothing to help or inspire me. it would maybe help if i made some friend there but they all seem to have their own groups. oh well, i can but try!!
