I am a shocking 14stone 2 today. I thought I was 12 ! No wonder none of my clothes fit.

Going to make my excuses once only and thats it. Teaching full time. Two under 2.5 years. Full house renovation and move. Cannot get to the gym due to dh shifts. Just off antidepressants.

So that's it. No more excuses.

Lots to look forward to. I used to be a nice 12 even pre vanity sizing. I have beautiful clothes (Hobbs, monsoon etc) that won't go above my ankle.

Anyway I am going back to gym/swimming before work from now on. Want to be in the 12 stone zone (even if it's 12lb13) by 25th June

Daily diary for yesterday coffee x 4
Steamed cod vegetables and three baby potatoes. One glass wine (170ml)

fruit. soup

Today

Steak and steamed veg. Apple.

will have an omelette later after the gym (dh off today)

Don't expect any replies but if anyone wants to be my weight loss friend .. welcome aboard Flowers

Hi! Just wanted to say good luck! I joking slimming world a while ago (I'm now pregnant so not doing it right now) and when it as weighed I was shocked I was a bit heavier than expected. But I lost a stone and half on the plan! The support really helped from the group. If this is really what you want and are determined you can do it! Flowers

Oh god I needed to read this, I'm exactly the same.

Truth be told I'm disgusted with myself, I bet I weigh the same and I'm so short, I'm very disappointed in myself.

the only excuse I've got is my medication makes me put weight on and very very tired.

I have two questions - what do you eat for breakfast & what do you wear for the gym?

I eat porridge with chopped fruit for breakfast. Find the fruit makes it taste nice and keeps me fuller for longer so I'm not tempted to pick during the morning

I'm placemarking this thread. Had a baby 12 weeks ago and have climbed to a rather worrying 75kg, and look very "wide". Also had the first experience of my thighs REALLY rubbing together when I was in my swimming cossie earlier.

So today is my final "hurrah" on the daily sweets and buns and from tomorrow I'm cutting out the sweeties and cakes in the week as well as upping the fruit and veg intake.

Thanks to amazing DP am planning on starting the Couch to 5k again and clearing that in the set 9weeks (like I did in 2014).

That, combined with Buggyfit and also swimming when I can means I hope to reach my pre-pregnancy goal of 67kg by 1 August (and hopefully go back to a 10/12 instead of a 12/14).

I feel your pain. I joined Scottish slimmers a few weeks ago and was utterly horrified when the scales showed 15 10. Hideous. I've lost half a stone so far but obviously have a lot more to go. We can do it!

I've lost two stone since February and now a size 10 at last.

I found that only keeping a diary of what food I ate wasn't enough. It was all about the amount rather than the type of food. I made a myfitnesspal account and started to log everything. That healthy salad I used to always make as a 'light' dinner actually came in at 660 cals. So instead of changing it, as I loved it, I just made it into 2 portions. One for dinner, and one for the next day at lunch. Calorie counting also allowed me to 'keep' some calories for the end of the day to 'spend' on a mini chocolate bar or something similar.

I started off doing tons of exercise too, but couldn't keep it up. Hate exercising and just had no motivation. Half expected all the weight to pile back on once I stopped exercising daily, but actually it hasn't so I really would suggest maybe focus on the food side of things initially instead of tackling food and exercise at once.

I'm currently on 1200 cals a day and find that this is more than enough, so long as I plan and log the next day's meals in advance. I go up to 1500 cals on the rare days when i do my hour of exercise DVDs.

Still losing weight. Although it's coming off much more slowly now that my BMI is in the healthy bracket. Another stone to go before I'm at the weight I feel best at. Which would put my BMI at 20-21. Then I'll look into how to maintain.

If you can get rid of the wine or only half it would be much better but on the whole not too bad

wobblywonderwoman · 02/05/2016 16:30

oh my God thanks for all the replies. it means so much.

well done to you all who has lost weight.

it affects everything doesn't it. I don't even apply tan or look after myself so I am doing that now also.

We will crack it.

I think the wine is bad but I might allow a mini bottle on one weekend night. Dh is a health guru but he tends to keep treats in the house but he is being very supportive and we are only allowing popcorn in for his treat.

Yes that sounds good. I ate that when I was losing six stone. I probably need to lose about a stone again now so will be going back to it. I know its a bit boring but worth it.

Hi wobbly I'll join you! I'm just under 14 st too and I bloody hate it. Ideally I'd like to get down to 10 3/4 which is when I felt great, but I'd be happy to lose anything. I've pigged out today but I'll start properly tomorrow.

I'd like to join you too I don't know how much I weigh...14 stone something. Will go to Boots tomorrow and weigh in and report back. I had to buy size 18 jeans last month, enough is enough

Let's do it. I was 195lb a week ago. After a very indulgent weekend I'm now 200lbs! My scales only measure in lb or kg so I have to convert to stones.....that's ...um....14.2 Sad. Hope most of that is fluid retention after lots of alcohol and Chinese food.

Can I join? I'm 50, 5ft 6 and weigh 12 stone 7lbs. Blush
My excuses are menopausal, work irregular shifts and am generally lazy! I've tried all sorts of diets to no avail.

From this week I'm going to go back to how our family used to eat as a kid, home cooked from basic ingredients, no jars, no 'low fat' stuff, no ready meals and lots of veg with small portions of meat/fish.

Neither of my parents were overweight despite always having puddings, jersey milk, butter etc. and doing no exercise bar walking the dog, gardening and housework so I think it's worth a try.
I've just had 2 eggs for breakfast and have baked some soda bread using spelt flour for lunch.
i do think that heavily processed food has a lot to answer for.

Yes, and snacking on biscuits and crap.. My children are getting far too into sweet stuff so I'm just going to stop buying it. I'm also 5'6 and I'd be over the moon to be 12.7 at the moment!

White wine is alright if you dilute it with water. I have half a small glass topped up with ice cold water and sip it as if it was wine only. It only takes a couple to get used to having it this way and you've instantly halved the calories and units.
