9lbs in 3 weeks, who's with me?

I've been hovering around 12 stone for 2 years now. I'd really like to get back to my pre baby weight of 10 stone 7, I've lost and gained a few pounds over the last few months and find it so boring.

I've got a big event in 3 weeks time where all my friends will be looking gorgeous and skinny. I've lost 3lb in the last couple of weeks and am currently 11.9, so far I've been avoiding carbs as much as possible and eating tons of veg. It goes well until the weekend when I eat and drink too much. Think I need to ditch the booze for the next little while.

I'd love to get as close to 11 as possible, I know it's a lot off weight in not long but if I'm really disciplined I think it could happen (maybe, possibly)

Does anyone want to join me?

Me me me!!
Dd was is 4 weeks old tomorrow and for the last week I've made small changes to help shift the baby Weight that was there before she was born. I would love to wear tops this summer without having to put a jacket over the top to cover up.
The changes I've made so far giving up Coca-Cola, swapping white bread for seeded brown and eating breakfast where before I didn't bother.

Would love to have some moral support as dp has no willpower so his efforts to join me are already over.

Paul Mackenna Paul Mackenna Paul Mackenna. I lost nearly 3 stone, what I needed to, with his way of eating.

There are other ways too

  1. Give up normal tea and coffees and colas, you're right, mumfairy Herbals teas and water are fine (drink them when you feel hungry) if you still feel hungry afterwards then eat, that's Mackenna .

  1. Eat before 7.30 pm and after 8am (have a bit of fruit and or herbal teas, water if you get really hungry)

  1. Eat fruit on an empty stomach.

This all works folks! Good luck!

Oh if you're hooked on caffeine and alcohol do the cold turkey over a weekend, when you can rest you may get a headache Grin.

Yes please!

In January I lost a stone but have maintained through February. 9lbs in 3 weeks is exactly what I need to get to the next milestone!

so ppeatfruit no caffeine at all is important part of that?

Report
ppeatfruit · 15/02/2016 13:52

Yes, I lost a stone just giving it up and eating fruit on an empty stomach before going on the Paul Mackenna.

It's weird because now I'll have a decaff now and then and it speeds up my metabolic rate. But not every day.

Be careful because ,as I said, you can get withdrawal symptoms if you usually drink a lot of caffeinated drinks and alcohol of course. You'll look great if you manage it Grin

DD1 says her skin looks amazing after not having a regular drink Grin

Hey brandnew - I'm currently around the same weight as you (I think!)

Well done on the 3lb lost so far.

I'm definitely in - it's a 'big' birthday for my DP 3 weeks today and he's having a party on the Saturday before so I'd like to blast as much off and look lovely on the night.

My plan is to drink a fook load of water and swerve the carbs as much as poss. Should also give the alcohol a miss as well!

I had a horrendous headache Saturday which I think is from not having coke. Luckily I woke Monday and it had gone.
Just shows how badly my body relied on it.

Il join if that's okay. I have around 9lb to lose to get to my pre baby weight and my birthday is also in 3 weeks so it fits perfectly. I weighed myself around 3 weeks after having my daughter and I was 12,8 and nearly 8 months later I'm down to 10,3. Some of that was natural loss after baby and the rest has been bloody hard work. But the end is in sight so feeling positive I can do this. Good luck all il be following with interest and will weigh in next Monday.

What's everyone having for tea tonight?
I'm having a salmon fillet, broccoli, corn on the cob with a sweet baked potato.

Others diets have never worked for me as I can't stick to them. I need something that doesn't feel like a diet so I can do it forever. I'm hoping this time I can

I'm having 3 chicken goujons broccoli and green beans. I don't have any carbs with my evening meal and surprisingly don't miss them anymore. Attempting a gym session later. This thread is spurring me on!

I'm having home made cauliflower curry with whole rice. That's one more brilliant thing about Paul Mckenna, there's no counting calories or low fat diet foods.

I'm really pleased I've got some buddies!

Bright, maxima and ppeat sounds like you've all done really well on the weight loss so far. What's the deal with cutting caffeine ppeat? Does caffeine slow your metabolism? Think I'd struggle to stop drinking tea, it feels like my only vice at the moment.

Fairy well done on kicking the coke, your baby is tiny though, go easy on yourself!

Scribble I've also got a big birthday party on that Saturday, we'll definitely be looking lovely by then!

I'm having veggie chilli tonight and looking enviously at dp's rice. I've drunk a load of water today and about to start level 2 of the 30 day shred. Wish me luck!

I just started level 2 of the 30 day shred. I actually enjoy it more than level 1 I think!

I would like to join but do you think it is possible? I have lost around 16-18lbs since New Year but that was mainly excess xmas weight and retained water I think. I would love to keep going at that rate but I have slowed right down. I am calorie counting, Fitbitting, cutting right down on wine, cut out sugar in tea.

aaaahhh that was horrible, I found it so much harder than level 1 beright, at least it was a change I guess!

That's very impressive coper, I'm not sure if it's possible but I'm gonna give it a good go, I'm feeling the most motivated I've every felt but know if I've got any change I've got to be very discipline

Brand- I am also feeling the most positive ever. It is pre menstrual week and I need to stay motivated as I usually gain or plateau this time of the month.

Agree Fairy go easy when you've got a little one.

The no caffeine thing worked for me, and does for dh but he's a real addict, and won't cut it out completely, so he's still OW. I was only having one freshly ground coffee a day. I don't like 'normal' tea anyway, it gives me acid reflux.

I hate the idea of being 'addicted' to anything so I like a challenge like giving up a daily coffee . I do like a bit of dark chocolate though ! And make nice GF brownies.

Hah, op, you're not coming to my DP's 30th are you? Wink

Weekend was good but yesterday was bad, we wound up at the local pub quiz so I had a glass of wine or two but back on it today. Just popped to Sainsburys and instead of picking up a bagel and a can of Diet Coke I've grabbed some caffeine free jasmine tea so I'm not tempted by the work vending machine....

Right today going ok so far. Am off work so been on the treadmill. One slice of toast for breakfast (my morning toast is more or less the only refined carbs I have), a tea first thing. Just had a latte though and starting to rethink my coffee habit based on the caffeine theory and also the milk. Might start trying black decaf. Will save on calories. hmmm!

Seeded brown toast with marmite for me, taking dc to the farm too so that'll be some walking for me. I've been weighing myself Monday mornings. I'm currently on maternity leave so this is the best chance I'm going to get. I need to change my whole outlook on food
