Anyone else with a waist measurement over 34" and wanting to reduce it?

I read another thread tonight regarding waist size and what's seen as too big. This prompted me to measure my waist.

I know I'm too big around the middle and always have been, even when skinny elsewhere.

Some of it is lack of muscle tone and a tendency to push my stomach out. But there's too much fat by far.

My waist is 36". I'm 5' 8". My bum and boobs are perky for my age, 48 this year.

So I'm looking at 32" waist. I'll be happy with that.

My aim is to eat more for breakfast and lunch, less at night. I'll keep an eye on carbs too. I don't have a sweet tooth so that's one thing in my favour. I love veg so will up that.

Anyone else care to join me?

I also want to lose 20lbs to be a healthy bmi.

I'm active at work and do moderate exercise, dancing and walking.

It does get harder as you age though imo.

This is a really good way of looking at getting healthier. I have some bulk to lose round the middle too. I had a gorgeous baby 5 months ago, but was bulging around the middle before I was pregnant anyhow.

I'm going to try and eat smaller portions, especially evening meal. Drink more water and find a way to do more exercise.
I'll come back with some stats, but in the mean time, I'm 38, 5'6''
Nice to meet you freakin!

Still haven't been to get weighed, but am starting anyhow.

First thing: eat smaller mouthful.

I think I've got into the habit of eating fast and not chewing properly, so I can easily increase my enjoyment of food without going back for seconds.

I'm finding the smaller mouthful strategy really helpful.

And have discovered that my waist is 40'' so really got some distance to go to get to 34'' !
