On a mission to buy healthy snacks for work - any ideas please?

I am just starting out trying to eat healthier & make more conscious decisions about what I eat as I have gradually put on weight since having dd2.
The thing I find hardest is when I'm at my desk at work. It's a long time between breakfast & lunch & I need snacks! I do try & take fruit but get so bored of it. I also have tried lots of the cereal bar type things but am sure they are not as healthy as they claim to be.
I really struggle with nuts & seeds, I know they are good but I just don't like them at all.
Can anyone give me some desk suitable snack ideas and recommend any cereal/snack bats that are actually ok?

The Nature Valley 'protein' bars are nice but expensive, I stock up when on offer. They are very nutty though so not sure if this would be ok? Things like rice cakes, blueberries and mini crustless quiches are what I have.

I can struggle with this. If I really pay attention I find I like the taste of carrot, apple, etc., but it's not what comes to mind when I think of "snack". I've ended up cutting out the concept of mid-morning snacking and have brought my lunch to an earlier time. I figure if I'm hungry I might as well actually eat rather than do something to stave it off. I struggle a little toward the end of the day but I usually eat dinner early anyway and heading home and cooking are better ways of managing hunger than sitting at my desk trying to work and thinking about food!

The Eat Healthy bars are very nice, but I agree that in general bars are not necessarily all that healthy. But better than Belvita, which is what everyone at my work seems to eat......
How about Oats-So-Simple? You can make it in a mug. I've never tasted it though.
Greek yoghurt with a bit of honey?

How about Nakd bars? I love them. Have you persevered with nuts? I didn't used to like them much but have 'trained' myself to love them. I've also noticed that I very rarely catch a cold since I started eating them every day. I mostly have cashews and almonds. I also really like them with an apple. Sugar snap or mange tout peas are good, as are mini sweet corn. I also like Babybel cheese - depending on what your view is on the high/low fat debate, but they are pretty small so good for, portion control.

Honestly you'd be better without the snacks full stop, drink water if you need to put something in your mouth.
If I need a snack I have chocolate, a single twirl bar or a Milky Way, both less than 100 calories and I eat in small, bits and savour each one - I feel like I have had a treat, but it isn't too much in the way of calories whereas if I have biscuits I want 2 or 3 which mounts up the calories.

I like the fruit and seed bars mad by The Foodie Market (available in Aldi). They are much moister than a cereal bar, come in lots of different flavours and are only 95 calories each! I also love all that sweet and salty popcorn that's trendy at the moment Tyrells poshcorn is a nice make and you can buy it in small packets (otherwise I will scoff a whole packet). I know you said you are bored by seeds but have you tried the Whitworth "shots" (available in Tesco). I like them for a change as some have small drops of chocolate in them but its such a small amount they are low in calories too.

You need to ring the changes otherwise it gets boring!

You don't NEED snacks
you want snacks

There is a huge difference.
Every time you think you want a snack, go and drink a pint of water

its better for your insulin and grehlin and digestive systems to have decent gaps between food

make sure your breakfast has little or no sugar in it so that the insulin system does not kick off till later in the day

What are you eating for breakfast? I suspect that the key will be eating a breakfast and lunch that don't leave you hungry, rather than changing the snacks, iyswim.

I would say make up little custom bags of fruit (dried) and nuts / seeds. I did this once when I lost lots of weight. Kept them in my desk drawer and as they don't taste too sweet and are filling it really worked. Also dark chocolate pieces really curb cravings for snacks. High percentage ones - Lindt do a 99% one. Takes a bit of getting used to.
Then if you have a fridge protein (do little bags of it) chicken / bacon (obvs cooked).

I second the Whitworth shots some are 70 kcal more are 100. Some have tiny bits of chocolate others have tiny bits of shortbread or toffee and then bits of nuts seeds or dried fruit mixed in. Cover the chocolate and sweet craving.

Just had a cranberry and almond one. Not ever day but nice for a change from fruit.
