Hey Everyone, I am new to mumsnet and actually heard of this site from a friend.
Has anyone followed a very low calorie diet before? I am currently following one called slim & save and wondered if anyone was doing something similar and could buddy up?!

Everyones welcome, whatever diet you are following. Need that bit of motivation as I have tried tons and tons of diets in the past but nothing has seemed to work.

I am currently on my first week and feel great.... anyone....out...there! :)

Hiya! I am! Grin

I'm following one called shakethatweight, been on it 10 weeks and I'm feeling so much better. (Size 16/18 now size 14) The weight is melting off and it's great to feel in control, not thinking about food all the time... (used to plan my dad around binges BlushCake) I have 2 shakes, a bar and my own low carb meal per day. It's so cheap too. You can do this, once you get past the first 2 weeks it gets much easier! Plus seeing results quickly will motivate you.
The trick will be once we reach our targets and slowly reintroduce healthy meals again, rather than going back to old rating habits. Good luck lovely! Hope the scales are kind after your first week Smile

Hi I am on a vlcd Exante. Like you I have tried so many diets, but this is the first time I have really stuck to and done well on. I have lost 2stones now and I am feeling much better, I want to lose about another 3stones if possible. I have a goal to lose 20lb by Xmas so that is what I am really focusing on, right now.

I'm interested in this, too, and I've just looked at the ones you mentioned, but there's seem to be lots of different 'plans' to follow on each one, e.g. on shakethatweight there are four different options. How do you know which to do?

I have done Slim and Save in the past. Once you get past the first 2-3 days then it is easy to do and I find that instead of thinking about food all the time, I switch off and stop craving everything in sight. I now mostly use my SnS packs to follow a 5:2 diet combo with SW.

yes, and they work, but the hardest part is not going nuts when you can eat again, because its very easy to put weight back on afterwards. I think I did exante the last time. I've done slim & save too. all much of a muchness.
