Has anyone tried the Freedom diet??

I'm seriously thinking about giving it a go - a couple of people from work have lost loads of weight over 6 weeks and say it wasn't too hard (their lunches looked really good and not too 'diet-ey'). I've tried loads of different things and never manage to stick to them but this sounds quite sensible and doable.

Anyone else tried it..?

can't say i have heard of it to be honest! what does in involve?

Oh sorry yes, I should have explained that bit Blush

It's a diet plan thing where you sign up and they devise a 6-week plan for you. Looks good on the website and seems quite reasonable, but I keep signing up to different things then giving up so I'm wary about starting yet another plan. The ladies at work who did it though both say they received quite different plans based on the answers they'd given in their questionnaires, and both seem to be eating regular types of food for lunch at work (no mung bean salad or anything like that!!).

I'll give it some more thought but I've got a holiday coming up in December and need something I can stick to!

Right I've decided to give it a go!

I've had a good look at the website and emailed them a couple of questions - and I've now signed up. The health questionnaire came straight away so I'm filling that in...apparently my diet plan will arrive 5 days after I've returned the questionnaire.

My plan has arrived - it looks really good and I'm officially excited! Grin

Now I realise that I'm essentially talking to myself here Blush but I think documenting my progress will help keep me on track.

Today's my 1st day of following the diet plan and it's been really good - 3 nice meals that I've genuinely enjoyed. I signed up to the Body Coach plan over summer, but I quickly realised that it just didn't suit me at all (far too much meat, and too much reliance on hard-core exercise for my liking), but I really liked the concept of an on-line diet plan as I think it works well for me. I also like the accountability - I'm sending in my weight-loss each week, and also my measurements after 3 weeks, so that should keep me on track! I also like being able to email with questions or concerns, which I've already done several times Blush

Anyhoo, I'm officially underway and am seriously focused on following the plan, improving my terrible eating habits and trimming down before Christmas Smile

First weigh in yesterday and I've lost 5lb Shock I can't believe it!! I NEVER lose weight as quickly as that - and I feel like I've been eating loads and actually really enjoying my food. It's a total revelation Smile.

Well done OP!

Can I be cheeky and ask how much it cost?

Report
Howhardcanitbe · 23/10/2015 10:35

Hi Archer

It was £75, which is for the diet plan and online support for 6 weeks (although you can follow the plan for as long as you like) and then after 6 weeks apparently I'll receive a maintenance plan to follow when I've reached my goal weight.

I'll try to link to their website:

Well I'm still here - and still following my diet plan (which in itself is a minor miracle as I have NEVER been able to successfully stick with any sort of diet for this long before!).

I lost another 3lbs last week, which I am very pleased with, although my diet coach person has warned me not to expect to keep losing quite as much as time goes on, but still happy with that. Still really enjoying the food, but even more I'm actually enjoying having a set plan to follow which I know will work and which is healthy. I can't rave enough!! Just wish there were others on here following it - might have to join a different thread I think...

So I thought I'd pop back and update on my diet plan now that I've reached the end:

I've lost just over a stone (1st 1lb to be precise!) and for the first time in the history of the world I'll be wearing a bikini on my holiday later this month without feeling embarrassed (my holiday was my motivation for starting this). NO more wobbly belly!! Xmas Grin

I've totally changed my eating patterns and have gotten out of the bad habits that caused me to put on weight in the first place.

I'm following the maintenance plan they drew up for me and feel confident that I'll keep the weight off (although I can always return to my diet plan if I put a few lbs on e.g. over Xmas - very likely!).

But I think the most amazing thing for me was actually finding something I could stick to and which didn't feel like a struggle every day - not sure exactly what changed for me this time...perhaps the accountability of checking in with my diet coach (she emailed me regularly to ask how it was going etc) and also perhaps because I'd paid for it. Think it was also because I knew it was a healthy plan and not just some random 'diet' I'd decided to follow for a bit.

Anyway, thanks for reading, just wanted to round up my experience for anyone who might have been interested. x

Hi OP & congratulations on the weight loss, hope you enjoy your holiday & bikini. Does the £75 include any special diet foods or do you have to pay for those on top?

HowHardCanItBe · 01/12/2015 18:30

Thanks.

No it doesn't include any food - it's a personal diet plan, but I didn't need to buy any diet foods or supplements, it's all quite normal everyday food (well mine was anyway).

Well done OP, very inspiring! I've had an email from Freedom saying I can sign up at their discounted December price but postpone receiving my plan until January, so I'm going to do it. There's no way on earth I can contemplate starting any sort of diet now, but January will be perfect.

Hopefully I'll be flaunting my bikini too by summer Wink

What makes it different from just trying to 'eat healthily'? Can you give an example of a days suggested meals? I'm interested in the idea that certain foods aren't as 'diet friendly' for some people as they are for others. Curious how they determine what you should and shouldn't eat!

BitterLemons1 · 30/12/2015 13:00

I haven't received my plan yet - but I've tried to just generally 'eat healthily' before and it never lasts and I jump around from one idea of 'healthy' to another. I'm hoping that having a proper healthy plan that's been drawn up for me by a dietician, and also with all the quantities for steady weight loss already worked out for me, will make it more successful.

I'm happy to post back once my plan arrives to give you an idea of a day's eating.

The questionnaire asked me to specify any food intolerances and a list of health issues to indicate if I suffer from any of them. It also said to specify any particular foods that I dislike as they'll omit those from my plan.

Yes pls, let us know! Is it actual recipes etc? I've managed to shift weight with VLCD's but struggle to maintain so this sounds interesting!

I emailed a few questions before signing up and they described it as a personal diet plan with options to choose for b.fast, lunch, dinner and 1 optional snack, including recipes. After the initial weight loss part they then create a maintenance plan for you too. I'm really excited about it arriving!!

My plan came through today and I'm really pleased with it. Going to get shopping in the morning and get started straight away. Easy to prepare breakfasts and lunches, and some nice sounding recipes for dinner. Wish me luck!!! Smile

Good luck! What do they suggest for lunches? I can't be sustained for a day on salad!

Hi everyone!

Came across Freedom Diet Coach whilst researching the body coach plan! Been put off that one but this seems a bit more doable from what I am reading.

What are the receipies like? Does one dish require 50 million ingredients?

I have just started a VLCD and I am looking for something that will help me to maintain once I am at goal

Not there yet lol but I need a plan 😁
