Would Slimming World suit me?

I'm about a stone overweight, quite active and menopausal. I've tried LCing in the past with some success but as soon as I fall off the wagon (holidays, meals out etc) I put it all back on.
For years I was reasonably slim by eating a very low fat diet but TBH the LC food is much nicer.
I can be fairly strict with myself but I'm always so hungry.
Any ideas?

You won't be hungry on Slimming world. I have been going for a couple of months, lost 11 lb, some people have dramatic losses, but I have chosen to tweak my diet to fit into the plan, rather than radically alter it, as I think that will work better for me long term. If I have been hungry, it was only because I couldn't be bothered to walk to the kitchen to get something. Loads of foods are free, so there is no need to munch on a lettuce leaf (unless you like them)

Hunger is not the problem on SW. For me it's about being organised. There's plenty to eat, but unless you are organised and have time to prepare, it can get quite boring.

What I like about Slimming World is that it gives you the basic set of principles for a healthy balanced diet, 1/3 of your meal fruit or veg (could be couple of pieces of fruit for a pudding) then lean meats and a bit of low fat dairy and a little bit of crabs, keep sugar to a minimum. No need to remember the points values of every single morsel which passes your lips

I love SW!

Never been hungry.

You have to be reasonably organised but that is the same way with any plan.

I have interesting fruit, hb eggs, chicken to snack on but tbh, rarely snack.

B.....fruit, yoghurt & all bran
L....smoked salmon, salad, fruit
D.....sausages, mash and beans

By the way, I'm about 5 stone over my lightest adult weight. I haven't chosen a target weight, as I want to achieve some weight loss without it seeming an impossible mountain

Thanks for the replies.
I do cook & am quite organised so that won't be a problem.
It sounds like the meals are fairly normal which is a bonus.
Very low sugar is fine but I'm wondering about the carbs, can I have small amounts of nutty bread or wholewheat pasta?

I love SW. I am also menopausal and have lost over 2 stone in 12 weeks following the plan. I have found it really easy and don't feel hungry at all. Go for it!

2 stone in 12 weeks? That's amazing, well done.
I could be a size 10 by Christmas....

You can have wholemeal bread and dried pasta is fine too.

Thanks Smile. I am getting lots of compliments now as people are really noticing the difference. Makes me feel a lot better about myself as I was feeling fat and frumpy previously.

How did you get on?

Apparently she's 'starting soon' and will be in touch.
In the meantime I've cut down on portion size and am trying to avoid any sugar.
Thanks for asking.
