What do you take for lunch at work?

If I keep buying sandwiches, crisps and chocolate from the cafe, I'll never slim down.
What do you all make/take for work lunches?

I make sandwiches with 2 smal, slices of wholemeal and a mini tub of Philly lightest soft cheese. That is one syn on sliming world. Also, 3 mini babybels light which is a healthy extra and some carrot and cucumber chopped up and maybe an apple chopped up.

Or salad. I work shifts so sometimes take a pack of tilda egg fried rice that I just microwave, or some cooked pasta and sauce.

Some low fat feta cubed with cherry tomatoes, red pepper slices, black olives (in brine and rinsed) or any other chopped crudites with some crackers - find this keeps me full for ages, or a chicken salad or feta salad or some homemade soup with cottage cheese and ryvitas or if smell is not a problem something withe hard boiled eggs. Maybe some fruit and yoghurt too. Quinoa mixed with some roasted veg maybe a small tin tuna, brown rice salad - homemade with some chicken. Much better at keeping me full than sandwiches and less bloating for me. I do think homemade is the way to go and it really doesn't take long especially if you prep the night before and so much cheaper.

A variation on a greek salad, lettuce cucmber, toms, olives, goat cheese, beetroot and a vit of RF coleslaw. Melon / banana for snacking. But I am on weight watchers, before this I would happily buy a pie or something. Changed my food habits for the better I hope

I have to avoid wheat, so in summer I'll make up a salad similar to those described above. I like new potatoes, so I sometimes add a few. If it's cooler, I'll make a soup & take it in a flask, or buy Tescos sun ripened tomato and puy lentil soup or the Covent Garden Skinnylicious soups, if they're on offer. I'll always take at least one piece of fruit and a yoghurt. Instead of bread, I'll have oatcakes or corncakes. Or, Warburtons have started making GF wraps, which are brilliant (if expensive)! I spread them with stuff like hummus & thinly sliced beetroot & tomato.

Do you have microwaves? I take leftovers from the night before so tomorrow I have some noodles with garlic and chilli mushrooms and broccoli

Can make your own noodle soup with shredded chicken, green veg like bok choi and bean sprouts and rice noodles in a clear soup base. make the night before and just heat it up.

I don't take anything in, I go to the shops near work every day to get at least some of the ingredients I need to make my lunch (we have a fridge and kitchen at work). This means that I have to go outside and get some exercise (though I keep a couple of the John West "light Lunch" boxes in my drawer in case of very bad weather).
The sort of things I will make myself at work are:
Pre-made salad bowl to which I may add one of the John West Spreadables (by varying both the salad type and Spreadables flavour it's hard to get bored with this).
Two Warburtons thins with wafer thin ham, pre-washed salad and dijon mustard instead of butter (if find extra spice like this gets me satisfied quicker, don't know why).
Soup with either the crusts from a weight watcher malted loaf, a pitta or a warburtons thin.

To any of the above lunches I will add a packet of low fat snacks like skinny popcorn, snack a jacks, wotsits, quavers etc. and a large bottle of diluted squash.

Hope this made sense and helps.

I often bring salad with chickpeas or butter beans (add tomatoes, balsamic vinegar etc.)
And I often buy salad and boiled egg from Coop.

I am not vegetarian by the way :)

I'll often take in leftovers and re-heat, with a pitta bread or some microwaveable rice.

Also make up a batch of roasted veg, which keeps for ages in the fridge (courgette, peppers, onions, mushrooms) and then add them to whatever for lunch.

I'll try and make sure there's some protein, so ham, feta, or beans or chickpeas.

Grow my own herbs so snip and add them too, and I bought a couple of little plastic pots and will put minty yoghurt or salad dressing in those.

In the winter - usually take in home made soup, usually vegetarian.

There's usually enough veg/salad in the fridge that I can take in something to work.

I tend to view lunch as a good time to get as much veg in me as possible, filling, cheap and good for you.

Afternoon snack Houmous and carrot/cucumber/pepper or Greek yoghurt m fruit

I'm a lone worker out n about in the community so no cooking or refrigerator facilities but In a decent size cool bag with ice packs it all stays nice n chilled

Bagel with light cream cheese, smoked salmon and rocket - not especially low cal but massively filling.

Peanut butter and rice cakes - keep an eye on the amount of peanut butter though.

If I go to the shops for lunch I'll get sushi or a calorie counted sandwich. Tesco do a nice chicken/noodle salad which is really low cal for the flavour and how filling it is.

I try and stay below 400 cals but I'll stretch this if I know I'm having a light salad for tea.
