Talking myself out of it already

I made a decision last night to get back on the diet and rejoin the gym. I've put on about three stone in the past few years and am really too heavy. I don't feel happy with myself at all.

Come today I've eaten really healthily and am due to go to an aerobics class at 7, but I'm panicking. Will I be able to do it will people look at me being so big. I need some encouragement to bite the bullet and get back on it!

If the exercise is going to make you feel bad about yourself then don't do it. Wait a while. It's the food part that is responsible for 90% of the weight.

People won't look at you askance for being in an exercise class, most people initially go for the weight, and stay for the endorphins and to keep the weight off.

I know what you mean Katherine but I'm far more successful with the eating when I'm exercising as I don't want to waste my hard work. Think I've roped a friend into coming with me so at least I won't be on my. A couple of weeks in and I won't think anything of it it's just the initial getting there Grin

You can do it! Stop thinking about it, then just get yourself out of the door at the appointed time - job done. The hardest part is actually making yourself walk out of the door to go for a run , a class or whatever. Once you're on the way, you'll be pleased you made the right decision! And classes are often full of all shapes, sizes and abilities - the more the merrier!
