Belly support band

My poor stomach muscles are very out of shape. I have an exercise plan that I'm doing every day but it's slow going. I was talking to someone at work who said they'd worn a support band to help 'retrain' the muscles after they'd been pregnant. I know it's not quite the same thing (mine are out of shape because I'm overweight) but i'm still wondering if it's worth a try. Has anyone used one and found it helpful?

I've only come across these for women with postnatal separated rectus abominis, to give the back support. I'm thinking of trying the string around my waist thing, to remind me to suck it in (I've terrible posture).

I used one of these postnatally and I didn't notice a huge impact tbh.
Whilst I had it on it was great and it did help you feel like everything was being held in place, but after I took it off there weren't any lasting effects I think.
That said, I've only had one baby so it could have been much worse without the belt!
My stomach muscles have knitted back together, and I'm pretty sure they were separated when DS was first born.
Who knows... Maybe the belt was magic after all!

I thought about trying the string but I think it would just annoy me/get caught on stuff at work, even under my shirt.

I'd like something with a bit of support, too. I'm either on my feet all day training people, or driving for long stretches of time. I get back ache and some gentle support would be nice!

Which band did you use, Dilli?

Mine was the esbelt. It's not particularly for postnatal women.
They have all different styles.
Mine was from just below the bra to just above pants line.
I'm tall - 6ft - and it covered everthing I wanted it to, really didn't want muffin tops and bottoms squishing out in any direction - and it didn't.
